The SSMT (Sales, Service, Marketing Technology) organization is looking for a dynamic senior software development manager who enjoys working in leading edge technologies in a fast-paced environment and thrives under ambiguity. This role specifically is building client-driven technology teams that's set on modernizing and improving the software quality and technology service provided through Schwab's Client Central platform.

What you are good at:

  • Passion to innovate, build and sustain state of the art business-critical platforms
  • Lead and manage software development scrum teams
  • Champion Agile methodologies, supporting your team members in their roles in daily stand-up meetings, sprint planning sessions, backlog prioritization, user story preparation and demos
  • Formulate and evolve the platform vision, strategy and roadmap with architects and peers
  • Create and maintain key performance metrics to drive the platform to a performant, scalable state.
  • Possess excellent stakeholder management and relationship across business product areas.

What you have

Required Qualifications

This role requires a highly motivated, organized, and experienced business focused technology leader with a proven record of Agile software delivery within the financial services industry.

  • Minimum of 4 years' experience leading an information technology software delivery organization across multiple technical product disciplines
  • A degree in software engineering or a similar discipline
  • At least 8 years' experience managing the software development lifecycle with a strong breadth of capabilities including Java, .NET, SQL, REST, Angular or REACT, Web, design patterns, public/private cloud technologies
  • A minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in real time (API)
  • Experience leading solution delivery teams inclusive of scope, scheduling, budgeting, and project planning in an environment with aggressive delivery goals
  • Minimum of eight years' experience of hands-on software development
  • Extensive experience working in, and leading, Agile (Scrum) delivery teams with a focus on continuous improvement and a track record of high performance
  • Experience transforming teams through technology, organization, culture, process, and business change management

Leadership & Management

  • Ability to work hands on with team members to inspire and motivate all levels of staff towards both tactical and strategic delivery goals
  • Ability to drive change with external counterparties and vendors, managing and enhancing relationships and services provided
  • Outstanding performer, persistent and pro-active leader, detailed oriented, and driven to exceed expectations
  • Skilled communicator and negotiator with exceptional written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal skills

In addition to the salary range, this role is also eligible for bonus or incentive opportunities.
