Advisor Services Technology (AST) exists to support the premier digital custodial platform for independent RIA firms by creating purposeful, efficient, and delightful experiences for our Advisors, Participants, Fintech Partners, and End-Clients, that enable simplified and intuitive technical solutions for their operational needs. In Advisor Services Technology (AST) this team directly supports Advisor Trading Technology (ATT) Software Development for Schwab Trading Services, such as the iRebal web application, REST/SOAP services, database, and various integrations.

We are looking for a highly talented Senior Lead SDET (Lead Software Development Engineer in Testing) with leadership experience and excellent communication skills to join our team to building UI, middle tier, API, SQL and backend applications. Ideal candidate shares a passion for technology, innovation, excellence and enjoys dynamic, fast-moving, and agile work environments. Top candidates will thrive under ambiguity, and embraces change passionately. We have a Test-Driven development and Continuous Integration environment using Bamboo and Bitbucket now, moving to GitHub and Harness soon. In this role, you will work alongside a team of seasoned engineers whose main objective is to maintain all aspects of the overall software development lifecycle and ensure the on-time, quality delivery of software product releases.
- Perform thorough design reviews and code reviews for test framework(s) and automation.
- Provide technical direction and support to the rest of your team.
- Lead design and implementation of new stories and bug fixes, improving efficiency of test framework(s) and coverages.
- Develop tools and practices that will increase the efficiency of your team.
- Mature Team's Quality Software practices and implement industry standard best practices.
- Mentor junior staff in the team and help them reach their career goals.
- Partnering with fellow SDETs, developers, product owners, technical leads, and architects.
- A core member of a scrum team that will include developers, QA/SDET engineers, product owners, architects, and other essential roles.
What you have
Required Qualifications
- 15+ years of experience in Software Quality Assurance or Software Engineering
- 10+ years of hands-on experience automating build and release certification tasks as part of DevOps practices and behaviors
- 14+ years of experience of hands-on testing experience in Business Process Management workflows
- 12+ years of experience in both manual and automation QA practices (black box testing, risk-based testing, system testing, regression testing, exploratory testing practices)
- 14+ years of proven experience developing and implementing applications and/or developing test automation scripts, particularly web-enabled applications
- 14+ demonstrated expertise in test automation tools such as Selenium, TestNG, Junit, Cucumber, Gherkin, Rest Assured, IntelliJ, VS Code, SourceTree, Sauce Labs, GitHub etc.
- 8+ years of experience in Front End Technologies/Concepts: JSP / Java, Angular and/or AngularJS, JSON/XML, Sync/Async services
- 8+ years of experience in Back End Technologies/Concepts: Advanced technical competency in an OOP language Java, J2EE and RESTful API design, Micro-Services and Event-drive driven architecture and frameworks
- 12+ years of experience in Database Technologies/Concepts: Relational (SQL/Oracle/Postgres - SQL / Stored Procedures)
- 12+ years of experience writing Positive, Negative, Boundary conditions with different data sets for complex logic testing.
- 12+ years of experience working in Distributed Monolithic and Cloud Based Micro-services
- (14+) Passion for enterprise-level agile development building solutions through automation, driven by innovation and commitment to lifelong learning
Preferred Qualifications
- Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Experience Testing Start of day / End of day jobs, Rule based engine validation
- Solid understanding in web application environments and development tools, event-driven application development, session state management, web configuration and deployment strategies, security, and performance tuning, and debugging methodologies
- Comfortable with continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) concepts, unit testing principles and implementations, API test automation techniques as well as automated deployment pipeline tools
- Experience with Private Cloud/Pivotal Cloud Foundry/PCF
- Excellent and Effective time management skills and should be able to prioritize and multi-task effectively
- Excellent problem-solving skills including ability to disseminate complex ideas in a simplified fashion
- Demonstrated ability to work well under high pressure in a fast-paced environment using the scaled agile framework.
- Proven ability to work independently while serving in a leadership role within a team and working in a closely integrated environment with multiple scrum teams
- Be a team player, self-motivated and able to work collaboratively across organizations and geographically dispersed location
- Industry experience of Stock market / Brokerage industry preferred
