Pay range: USD $180,000.00 - $200,000.00 / Year
Your opportunity
At Schwab, you're empowered to make an impact on your career. Here, innovative thought meets creative problem solving, helping us "challenge the status quo" and transform the finance industry together.
Schwab Retirement Technologies (SRT) develops and maintains a broad set of retirement applications utilized by the Third Party Administrator (TPA) retirement services industry. Our team is seeking a Software Development & Engineering Lead with a passion for the retirement industry and a strong history of leading development teams. Our mission is to build, maintain, and modernize our robust set of solutions.
What you'll do:
As our Lead Software Developer, you will need to be a self-starter who partners well with others and leads multiple teams to Technical success. This role is all about getting the job done, so you have a can/will do mentality about all tasks associated with getting phenomenal code out the door. You'll design solutions from the ground up and seek approval from governance bodies to ensure implementations meet the solution architecture and design standards. You'll monitor the current-state solution portfolio to identify deficiencies through aging of the technologies used by the application, or misalignment with business requirements. You'll be the leader in understanding technology trends and the practical application of existing, new, and emerging technologies to enable new and evolving business and operating models. You'll understand, advocate, and augment the platform principles, guidelines and standards, analyze the business-IT environment (run, grow and transform the business) to detect critical deficiencies, and recommend solutions for improvement (systems of record, differentiation, and innovation). You'll participate in all relevant governance activities and advocate to be a governance member yourself. You'll assist with the evaluation and selection of software product standards and services, as well as the design of standard and custom software configurations. Finally, you'll align the solutions with the platform strategy, document all application / system design and analysis work, and advocate for agile practices to increase delivery agility.
