Charles Schwab's Digital Assets business unit is building a spot crypto offering for retail clients. This offering will complement and integrate with the existing extensive range of products at Schwab, including trading platforms and research and analysis tools, tradeable products, award-winning educational resources, a financial news and content network, and service and relationships tailored to trader clients' needs.

Job summary:

The Director, Digital Assets Business Operations & Strategy will report to the Managing Director, Digital Assets Business Operations & Strategy and lead strategic planning activities and special projects:

  • Support development of the long-term strategy for Digital Assets at Schwab
  • Take full ownership over key strategy projects and plan and manage the execution of work streams for large, complex projects
  • Lead analysis activities to support the development of business cases and go-to-market plans
  • Build relationships with a wide range of business partners, develop a deep understanding of the Digital Asset space, and uniquely position yourself as an invaluable subject matter authority
  • Regularly present strategic insights and recommendations to the firm's senior leadership
  • Monitor developments in the digital asset space and assess impacts to Schwab's business, including regulatory/legislative changes, competitive positioning, and new opportunity spaces
  • Mentor and coach junior team members, and at times manage entire teams on project work

What you have

Required:

  • 10+ years of full-time work experience, including 5 years of work experience in strategy with a top-tier consulting firm or strategy group at a large organization
  • Knowledge of, or experience working with digital assets and cryptocurrency
  • Strong data modeling skills and knowledge of financial/valuation concepts
  • Comfort with managing project(s) with different team members and partners each time
  • Experience mentoring / coaching a team
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, as well as the ability to develop concise and effective communications tailored to specific audiences
  • Excellent project management skills, including attention to detail, and the ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously; drive to decisions and follow through with strategic execution
  • Demonstrated ability developing relevant stories to communicate business strategies and recommendations
  • Demonstrated ability developing materials and effectively presenting to executive audiences
  • Experience creating and maintaining perspective on strategic implications of key developments in the external environment, industry trends, and competitor actions
  • Analyzes issues objectively, thinking through all potential connections and impacts and capitalizes on opportunities to operate more efficiently and improve performance
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to generate insights through both quantitative and qualitative analysis
  • Demonstrated interpersonal and influencing skills, especially in cross-functional teams
  • High attention to detail, sense of urgency, and proactiveness
  • Comfort dealing with ambiguity in a dynamic and fast-paced work environment
  • Expert user of PowerPoint and Excel
