Overview of the Role:

The Administrative Assistant is responsible for providing administrative support to the Managing Directors and Directors of the Corporate Development, Corporate Strategy, and Strategic Program Management groups. These teams are at the center of Schwab's activities, developing the firm's long-term strategy, near term business decisions, and evaluation and execution of potential acquisitions and strategic investments. The leaders are highly visible both inside and outside the organization, requiring strong administrative support in a fast-paced environment with many interactions across the firm and with external clients.

Required Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of administrative assistant experience (including travel planning and expense support)
  • Strong PC skills including shown proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to maintain utmost confidentiality using solid judgment regarding the handling of confidential information and engaging in conversations
  • Initiative and results-focused ability to deliver outstanding quality and timeliness, while working independently with little supervision
  • Flexibility and adaptability to changing priorities with the ability to anticipate and improvise
  • Outstanding social skills, maintaining composure in stressful situations, and while working under target date pressures
  • High attention to detail
  • Ability to work on a variety of projects simultaneously
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills with all levels of the organization
  • Ability to develop and maintain strong partnerships and interpersonal business relationships

  • A bias for action, highly organized, and proven ability to successfully execute on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Process orientation -- thinks systemically, 'connects the dots' and anticipates challenges or needs
  • Demonstrated ability to develop strong, positive working relationships with others, comfortable dealing with employees, vendors, and external partners
  • Proven ability to work in an ambiguous, results-oriented, fast-paced matrix environment with frequent interruptions, changing deadlines and sometimes conflicting priorities
  • Flexible, adaptable, and resilient
  • Unimpeachable integrity, trusted by others and able to deal with highly sensitive information
  • Ability to develop effective solutions by taking a holistic, abstract, or theoretical perspective with minimal oversight and guidance
