Position Summary
The Academic Technical Assistant provides support and assistance to faculty members, researchers, and students in an academic setting at CNM. This position assists with technical tasks providing administrative support, such as organizing schedules, coordinating meetings, and managing documentation. The Academic Technical Assistant plays a crucial role in facilitating the smooth operation of academic schools administrative functions promoting a conducive learning environment. This position involves processing faculty course loads and compensation in Workday, auditing entries for accuracy, and collaborating with Human Resources, CNM Payroll, and CHSS Payroll. Additionally, the role entails processing faculty course releases and project compensations, monitoring faculty leave requests, and managing One-Time Payments for substitute assignments and supplemental pay
Duties & Responsibilities
- Ensures enter faculty course loads and compensation data into Workday, ensuring accuracy and generating Period Activity Pay (PAP). Processes department-approved course releases and project compensations, including collecting official agreements and tracking project outcomes.
- Monitors and audits faculty leave requests, verifies course schedules and office hours against leave requests before submission to supervisors. Tracks hours for part-time faculty and processes One-Time Payments for substitute assignments and supplemental pay.
- Coordinates accounting activities, prepares internal reports, participates in budget planning, and monitors department purchases, costs, and invoices. Maintains inventory processes and procedures for the school.
- Provides administrative support to department administration, faculty, and students, including customer service, composing minutes and correspondence, data research, record-keeping, supply ordering, and purchasing.
- Serves as the primary point of contact for faculty communication, updates program accreditation information, tracks employee professional/educational development, coordinates department travel, and organizes department catalog processes.
- Serves as backup for the reception desk and provides coverage in the absence of other staff members.
- Performs other related administrative duties as assigned by department leadership.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Associates degree
OR
- High school diploma or equivalent
- AND
- Up to two (2) years of related experience
Preferences:
- At least one year of experience with budgeting or financial planning
- Demonstrated experience with purchasing and procurement processes
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
- Experience using Workday or a similar enterprise resource planning (ERP) system
