What you will be doing

Under the general direction of pharmacy solutions leadership and working closely with other health systems client leadership, the Managing Director will be responsible for leading and delivering on client service engagements, leading program development and optimization efforts, managing a remote, client-based team, serving as a subject matter expert (SME) in key areas and other duties as assigned.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Supports an existing base of PHS client locations and leads in the following elements:
    • Serving as a client facing project lead for consulting and managed services engagements
    • Executing on contract deliverables, and generating consulting outputs
    • Managing client relationships and coordinating additional SME involvement to achieve goals
    • Support the development and analysis of data sets that support consultative work
    • Performance management for any assigned field-based team members
    • Contributes to business development and strategy efforts both for clients and the Cencora Pharmacy Solutions portfolio
    • Maintains a knowledge base as an industry expert in key areas relating to health system specialty, infusion, and ambulatory practice
  • Participates in client leadership communication via business reviews, staffing assessments, program ROI reporting, break even analyses and optimization of PHS consulting services
  • Maintains a consistent on-site presence with key clients to support large projects
  • Provides insight on strategic approaches to optimizing health system infusion, specialty and ambulatory practice.
  • Engages with consulting teams on new client site development and program expansions
  • Leads the development of training materials, policy and procedure documents and operational best practices
  • Leads remote and on-site meetings with clients and key stakeholders
  • Documents, escalates and resolves engagement issues and risks.
  • Assists in the development and presentation of client proposals.
  • Identifies and develops service add-on opportunities within existing clients.
  • Contributes to new and or enhanced methods, approaches and tools.
  • Contributes to publications and speaking engagements that build AB market imminence.
  • Actively supports ABC recruiting efforts.
  • Performs related duties as assigned.

What your background should look like

Desired Background

  • Pharmacy degree with an active license in good standing
  • 3-5 years in areas such as health system specialty, infusion, ambulatory or retail pharmacy
  • 3-5 years of management experience (multi-site preferred)
  • Strong business acumen and understanding of pharmacy finances
  • Consulting and / or project management experience is a plus
  • Located near a major airport and ability to travel up to 75%
  • Location in Michigan is plus

  • Polished communication skills, capable of effectively interfacing with high level leadership within the company and client health systems
  • Highly effective at team management and creating an engaged work environment
  • Ability to execute with excellence and drive accountability in a fully remote team
  • Highly proficient in program development, process mapping and change management
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills
  • Functions as a self-starter and capable of independent work
  • Ability to coordinate work across multiple business units / entities (i.e. pharmacy, clinic, payers, central support, health-system leadership, internal teams)
  • Ability to apply observations and recommendations to operational issues, increased productivity, quality, and customer-service standards
  • Exhibits strong technical proficiency including the ability to build and manage reporting using excel and other tools
  • Experience working with electronic medical records and retail pharmacy systems
