What you will be doing

è Planning and executing shipments
è Communication link between suppliers, government authorities and Operations / Customer Service / Drivers
è Operation and maintenance of assigned vehicle(s)

• shipments are packed and transported by the most secure, most rapid, and most efficient way;
• the instructions of operations / customer service are carefully attended to;
• all tasks are fulfilled according to corporate policies and procedures;
• the needs and expectations of the customer are considered and fulfilled;
• all relevant and applicable regulations and guidelines are adhered to (e.g. ADR / IATA)
The holder of this position must coordinate the cooperation between his area of work with all other areas of the corporation in such a manner that the flow of information is always free of friction, unimpeded, and a holistically positive coordination is assured.
Tasks and competencies:
The holder of the position must independently execute the following tasks:
The holder of the position
Ø edits and maintains jobs (Driver assign) in WorldStar
Ø assigns WC drivers or books subcontracted drivers.
Ø checks collected shipments in the office and prepare them for transport
Ø loads, unloads company vehicles with/of packages scheduled for pickups/deliveries;
Ø checks correctness and completeness of consignment during pickups/deliveries;
Ø checks best route available for a timely delivery/pickup;
Ø must be able to read and interpret maps and driving directions to plan the most
efficient route;
Ø driver must make sure that the House Way Bill is properly completed by shipper
and/or consignee;
Ø uses cell phone to immediately report on progress or problem of deliveries, pick ups
and to secure permanent availability;
Ø verifies good order of packages and/or envelopes;
Ø provides a communication link between customers and office staff. Any customer
feedback must immediately be reported to drivers' dispatcher;
Ø keeps the assigned vehicle clean inside and outside;
Ø must execute regular pre-trip inspections;
Ø follows maintenance schedule for assigned vehicle;
Ø assure that all tasks assigned to driver are fulfilled in a correct and timely manner;
Ø must maintain excellent cooperation with other team members;
Ø must be courteous with all customers and must always use proper language;
Ø must be dependable and avoid unexcused absence;
Ø must be presentable, wear clean clothes and well-kept at all times;
Ø always follow safety of work;
Ø never leave car alone with shipment at unguarded or lonesome locations.
Ø Builds and maintains relationships to contractors / transporters
Ø Manages storage area (Packaging, Supplies etc)
Individual tasks:
The holder of the position is obligated to perform, in addition to the above described tasks,
individual tasks assigned by his superiors, which are to be seen by their nature as part of his
work area, or which arise out of necessity.
Organizational structure:
The Dispatch staff is subordinate to Dispatch Supervisor/ Operation Manager / Country
Manager.
No co-workers are subordinate to the Dispatch.
