The Team:

Celonis is looking for the ideal candidate to join our Global Employment Law, Privacy, Ethics & Compliance team.

As part of a Legal&Trust Team that plays a critical role in supporting the company’s growth at a global level, this is a unique opportunity to join an organization that is redefining how AI and data are transforming the world of business. The position will report directly to the EMEA Legal Director based in Madrid and will work closely with the Global and Compliance Employment Team.

As part of a legal team that plays a critical role in supporting the company’s growth at a global level, this is a unique opportunity to join an organization that is redefining how AI and data are transforming the world of business. The role is for someone who is available for a part-time position. As an Legal Trainee, the role is to support the Employment Team at a Global level, and will be based in Madrid. Celonis is currently in more than 20 countries across Europe, North America, and Asia.

The Role:

You are actively involved in the achievement of our Legal&Trust and Celonis goals by coordinating compliance & advisory related queries, identifying best practices, defining standards, processes, policies, and legal documents, as well supporting investigations. In 2025, we’re enhancing this Legal Trainee role with a renewed focus on Artificial Intelligence.

As a Legal Trainee, you will play a key role in supervising and refining AI-generated legal content, helping to bridge the gap between legal expertise and intelligent technology. You’ll also contribute as an analytical thinker, exploring the potential of AI in generating accurate and reliable legal insights. This is a unique opportunity if you are keen on learning how to work in the Global Employment and Employment Law Team and grow into a strategic thinker while contributing to the future of legal work.

The work you’ll do:

Legal Research & Documentation

  • Conduct basic legal research on employment laws and regulations globally with guidance from the team.
  • Summarize case law, regulatory updates, and guidance materials for Legal Trainee al distribution.
  • Assist in drafting, reviewing, and updating internal policies, procedures, and legal documentation.
  • Organize, help draft and manage critical documentation to support our ongoing internal investigations

Policy & Compliance Assistance

  • Help maintain and update the Legal databases and legal tracker data bases
  • Support the team in checking that documents and policies are aligned with local legal requirements.

General Legal Support

  • Training & Legal trainneal Communication
  • Help design and format Legal trainne al training materials and presentations using PowerPoint or Google Slides, or google sheets
  • Assist in sending out compliance reminders, newsletters, or updates to relevant teams.

AI & Technology Tasks

  • Review AI-generated legal content for clarity and relevance, flagging inconsistencies or potential issues.
  • Use AI tools to support basic legal queries and assist with early-stage research for larger projects.
  • Provide input on how AI-generated insights can be improved based on context and team feedback.

Team Coordination & Collaboration

  • Maintain shared folders, legal templates, and knowledge libraries to ensure easy access across the team.
  • Collaborate with the People & Culture team to support cross-functional tasks such as onboarding materials or process guides.

The qualifications you need:

Education & Languages

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Law, or a related field or, currently pursuing a master’s-level.
  • Fluent English (spoken and written); native-level proficiency or equivalent.
    Knowledge of Spanish or German is a strong plus.

Technical Skills

  • Proficient in Google Workspace (Google Sheets, Google Drive, Google Mail,  Google Slides )
  • Proficient in AI 
  • Familiarity with Artificial Intelligence tools is an asset and is highly valued. 
  • Experience, course or interest on project manager is a plus, Demonstrated project management abilities and capacity to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Legal & Compliance Knowledge

  • Basic understanding of Legal trainee labor and employment law, HR-related legal issues, or compliance frameworks.
  • Strong interest in emerging legal and compliance topics, especially those involving AI and data privacy.

Soft Skills & Work Style

  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated project management abilities and capacity to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Analytical mindset with a structured approach to problem-solving and a quick learning ability.
  • Capable of working independently as well as collaboratively within a global team.
