Summary Responsibilities

• Drives consistency for efficiency and effectiveness across the Product organization and within a Product Group

• Maintains operational standards, practices, tools, templates, and governance for the Product organization in line with the practice of Product at CarMax

• Partners with Product leadership to drive effective planning and execution practices across high-performing teams. Responsible for driving execution of Product Group governance for self, in addition to Group and Program leadership teams; Collaborates with peer teams across Groups to enable consistent governance practices.

• Uses all available resources to make good decisions with org practices, tools, and cadences, knowing when and how to partner with others including Product leaders

• Supports recommendations on org practices, tools, and cadences leveraging qualitative and quantitative data and logical thought processes that are practical and grounded

• Implements and maintains consistent organizational practices, tools, and cadences for strategic planning, roadmap reviews, agile ceremonies, work management, budgeting, etc.

• Maintains ongoing cross-functional governance, develops strong relationships with strategy analysts, product leadership, and program management to generate alignment and create visibility into progress, decisions, risks, and dependencies

• Sustain Group-wide communications related to product operations that are effective, honest, and motivational, and that generate broad awareness, alignment, and action with a wide range of audiences

• Uses active listening skills while engaging with associates and leaders to understand needs and ensure they are fulfilled, and seeking 'win-win' solutions for product challenges

• Seeks to improve process execution, make and implement aligned recommendations to improve organizational health, including collaboration and engagement

• Continuously builds expertise in Product disciplines and operational practices to advise and support teams effectively.

• Drives rigor in planning and process execution to inform and enable strategic decision-making by Product leadership, prioritization, and alignment through clear performance expectations and appropriate timelines

• Assists peers and leaders in championing change and capitalizes on 'teachable moments' (including Program Managers, Agile Coaches, among others) to implement org-wide changes in our Product practice or evolutions of best practices
