A Cloud Engineer II is responsible for development, maintenance, and support of Cloud application infrastructure and DevOps tooling. This role drives innovation into how Technology builds and deploys software and infrastructure into the cloud. CAF Capabilities Engineer acquire requirements from customers (developers and business) than design and build solutions to improve the efficiency, reliability, and security of Technology Systems. This position is a key contributor in the software application life-cycle, performing analysis and design, development, and working to achieve project and business goals. The responsibilities of this position revolves around ownership of assigned DevOps projects and developing tasks required to complete the initiative.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Focus on developing and implementing DevOps practices and tooling across a variety of platforms including on-prem and the cloud.
  • Perform configuration, troubleshooting, and ongoing management of infrastructure supporting cross-platform applications
  • Build infrastructure, networks, and systems for scalability, resiliency, availability, and recovery through infrastructure-as-code
  • Work with Technology Teams to identify development and operational patterns and provide solutions that drive efficiency and resiliency.
  • Partner with the business and product teams to identify opportunities to automate manual processes and provide solutions for complex problems
  • You will stay on top of industry trends and best practices to continually improve what we do, how we do it, and ensure we are delivering quickly with quality.

Skills and Qualifications required:

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related Technology field or equivalent experience
  • 2+ years of work experience
  • Technical experience in infrastructure design, build and deployment in the cloud.
  • Working knowledge of infrastructure as code to support and troubleshoot technical issues that arise
  • Working knowledge and experience building Airflow DAGs and maintaining the Airflow Application to ensure CAF nightly processes and integrations run on schedule
  • Demonstrable experience with Splunk and Data Dog to monitor and diagnose infrastructure, Airflow critical Business Processes, and other System Processes required
  • Demonstrable experience with Azure cloud capabilities including but not limited to storage, key vaults, virtual networking, virtual machines, and automated deployments
  • Demonstrable experience with software development preferably with one or more of Ansible, PowerShell, Python, C#
  • Demonstrable experience creating and managing CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Team City or Azure DevOps
  • Demonstrable experience supporting Windows or Linux OS
  • Strong attention to detail, problem investigation, and diagnostic skills
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related Technology field, or equivalent experience

Work Location and Arrangement: This role will be based out of the Richmond, VA CarMax Technology Innovation Center or the Dallas, TX Technology Hub and have a Hybrid work arrangement.

Work Authorization: Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. Sponsorship will not be considered for this specific role.
