Job Purpose and Impact

The Operations Manager will provide strategic operational oversight for production and operating processes for the chocolate moulding operations of the Cargill Mount Joy, PA facility. In this role, you will oversee safety, quality, operational effectiveness and financial performance for the moulding operations, packaging and shipping teams. You'll lead and develop an engaged team, driving continuous improvement, consistency, and accountability while creating a collaborative, winning team atmosphere.

Key Accountabilities

  • Manage moulding operations team ensuring policies are followed and proper training, communication and knowledge sharing occurs frequently between operations teams. Ensure employee, and foodsafety and environmental compliance program standards and goals are implemented.
  • Accountable for all internal and external operating and regulatory procedures on employee, and food safety including strategic execution in alignment with corporate environment, health and safety and food safety, quality and regulatory functions as well as government regulations.
  • Establish and deploy operational priorities for the chocolate moulding operations team including the packaging and shipping team. Develop and grow the team's knowledge and abilities, set expectations and drive continuous improvement to attain business targets.
  • Lead quality management deliverables to ensure customer, product and quality standard requirements are met within specifications.
  • Leads, directs and controls capital and operating budgets for a single plant or multiple plants with moderate complexity to achieve medium term outlook financial performance objectives set by the business.
  • Ensure and hold direct reports accountable for meeting and controlling operating expenses and established targets.
  • Oversee the overall operational management and implement operational efficiency improvements which may include standardization of plant information manufacturing systems, quality control, safety, production reliability excellence and maintenance and operator's best practices.
  • Lead and develop a team, coach and make decisions related to talent management, hiring, performance, and disciplinary actions.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of four years of related work experience
  • Food manufacturing experience
  • Previous supervisory experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Lean six sigma or other continuous improvement methodology certification or experience
  • Experience with packaging or shipping processes
