Lead Software Engineer, Full Stack (Java/AWS)

We're looking for a Manager - Full Stack Software Engineer to join the Card Architecture team who is passionate about marrying architecture best practices with emerging technologies!

What You'll Do:
- Lead a portfolio of diverse technology projects and a team of developers with deep experience in full stack systems to create automation tools to support the Card Architecture team aligned with leading standards and practices including tooling solutions for Content Management, SDLC, DevOps, reporting, etc.
- Evaluate and select appropriate technologies, conduct proof of concepts and recommend tooling / enablement solutions for specific business requirements
- Translate and tie business and technical requirements with solution and business architectures to achieve Card Architecture team's objectives
- Utilize programming languages such as Java, Python, SQL, Node, Go, and Scala, Open Source RDBMS and NoSQL databases, Container Orchestration services including Docker and Kubernetes, and a variety of AWS tools and services
- Lead automation of Non-Functional Requirements testing such as Capacity, Saturation, Resilience, etc.
- Lead the technical design and implementation for the team which usually includes technologies such as:
- Python, Apache Airflow, Apache Spark, PostgreSQL, Presto SQL, Snowflake SQL, Confluence, JIRA
- Amazon Web Services (Security Groups, Batch, Lambda, S3, ECS, EC2, ALB, RDS, IAM, SNS, Fargate, ElastiCache, Redis)
- Work within and across multiple teams to design, develop, test, implement and support technical solutions across a full-stack of development tools and technologies
- Develop and review high level and functional designs for new and existing tools and solutions in a way that conserves or improves on existing functionality and performance, without impacting compliance
- Mentor and guide the professional and technical development of engineers on your team
- Share your passion for staying on top of tech trends, experimenting with and learning new technologies, participating in internal & external technology communities, mentoring other members of the engineering community, and from time to time, be asked to code or evaluate code
- Collaborate with digital product managers, and deliver robust cloud-based solutions that drive powerful experiences to help millions of Americans achieve financial empowerment
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree
- At least 6 years of experience in software engineering (Internship experience does not apply)
- At least 1 year experience with cloud computing (AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's Degree
- 7+ years of experience in at least one of the following: JavaScript, Java, TypeScript, SQL, Python, or Go
- 7+ years of experience in software engineering or solution architecture
- 7+ years experience designing and building enterprise platform solutions
- 7+ years of experience with Agile software development
- 5+ years of experience with enterprise architecture and design patterns
- 4+ years of experience with AWS, GCP, Azure, or another cloud service
- 3+ years of people management experience
