Java/AEM Developer - IT for American Funds Service Group

As a Senior Solutions Engineer, you'll build, maintain, and expand applications/solutions critical to the Shared Services portfolio and Shareholder Services business area. You'll also have a key role in balancing business stakeholder requirements across the American Funds Training and Development space, driving a wide range of initiatives that enhance Knowledge Management, Quality Management and Training/Development for Associates. You will leverage your expertise in development, infrastructure, and product management to facilitate strategic efforts that fortify end-to-end solutioning and transform the overall portfolio and brand.

From digital and cloud solutions to legacy and emerging technology products and services, you will help to drive initiatives to address challenges at their core. You will develop products, services and solutions that capitalize on technology opportunities, disrupt markets, generate value, and positively impact millions of lives.

  • You have a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field
  • You have at least 5 years of software engineering experience with expertise in Java, AEM, JavaScript, REST API services, and AWS
  • Ideally you also have experience utilizing the following technologies: C#, .Net, MVVM, and Python
  • You're thoughtful in your approach to software engineering best practices. You can also lead others in implementing high quality, maintainable and extensible code base
  • Your agile mindset and passion for designing product user experiences enable rapid business growth
  • You have technical expertise, a strong business acumen, interpersonal and leadership skills and proven experience providing knowledge transfer
  • You have strong experience with requirements gathering, systems analysis, functional design, documentation, problem resolution, and release management
  • You have technology vendor management experience. You've provided technology direction, oversight and implementation of vendor solutions and integrations
  • You adapt programming literacy to match the shifting demands of different outcomes and technologies.
  • You have a passion for driving change and innovation. You introduce innovative ideas that push boundaries and challenge our culture when needed.
  • You apply knowledge of composable architectures, serverless computing and cloud native technologies when developing solutions

San Antonio Base Salary Range: $103,031-$164,850

In addition to a highly competitive base salary, per plan guidelines, restrictions and vesting requirements, you also will be eligible for an individual annual performance bonus, plus Capital's annual profitability bonus plus a retirement plan where Capital contributes 15% of your eligible earnings.
