As a Data Engineer in the Capital Solutions Group Technology (CSGT), you will build a suite of applications that support portfolio construction, research and monitoring capabilities for our multi-asset portfolio solutions business. Our investment professionals use the platform to construct, monitor and review their portfolios, and to make investment decisions. You will collaborate with the Product Management and Application Engineering team, investment professionals, and technology associates to create and implement detailed technical designs for mission critical and complex applications using existing and emerging technology platforms. You have an agile mindset and will contribute to the design, implementation, and delivery of large-scale, critical, and complex cloud-data products.

  • You'll work across the entire product lifecycle from conceptualization through production, spanning multiple capabilities and/or products within an assigned domain.


  • Leverages emerging technology patterns, frameworks in architecting and designing solutions.


  • Design and implement scalable and robust solutions.


  • Provides technical leadership and guidance to the team. As well as mentor and coach other associates on the team.


  • Partners alongside architecture and other technology teams to understand issues


  • You set the standard for quality, simplicity, test coverage, and documentation.


  • You collaborate effectively to support team strategy, contributing to architecture and technology choices.

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, related technical degree, or equivalent work experience


  • 7+ years of experience in solution delivery, spanning multiple capabilities and/or products within an assigned domain.


  • You can write complex SQL queries across large data sets and have data modeling experience using DBT

  • You have hands-on experience with orchestration tools like Airflow, Kestra, Prefect, or similar


  • You have worked with enterprise data platforms like Databricks or Dremio


  • You have expert technical knowledge of AWS data pipeline technologies and a significant experience automating complex pipelines that include file based and API endpoints


  • Build RESTful APIs in at least one of modern language such as Python, Fast API, Django, SQL Alchemy etc


  • Experience with AWS services such as S3, Kubernetes, container services, Lambdas etc to build distributed application architecture


  • Knowledge of software engineering best practices, such as: unit testing, conducting code reviews, and creating design documentation.


  • Demonstrated thought leadership and deep understanding of supported data capabilities.


  • Experience in leading end-to-end solutioning across all aspects of SDLC (analysis, development, testing, deployment, support, etc.) for business problems with medium to high complexity and ambiguity.


  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively within Agile delivery teams.

Southern California Base Salary Range: $153,965-$246,344

In addition to a highly competitive base salary, per plan guidelines, restrictions and vesting requirements, you also will be eligible for an individual annual performance bonus, plus Capital's annual profitability bonus plus a retirement plan where Capital contributes 15% of your eligible earnings.
