The Software Engineer is responsible for designing and developing business applications in Java for Broadridge.
Key Job Functions/Responsibilities
- Work closely in a software development team to develop high-quality Java software for critical business applications in an evolving, fast-paced environment
- Be involved in all aspects of the software development, including process design, software design, software implementation, documentation, quality assurance, deployment automation, and production support
- Provide technical leadership and expertise in the design/development of new applications and enhancement of existing applications
- Make application architecture recommendations to management and the development team
- Act as a technical advisor and mentor to less experienced Java developers
- Participate in special projects and ad hoc analyses as necessary
- Investigate system problems and propose solutions and/or design improvements
- Remain abreast of relevant technology developments
- Other duties as assigned

Education:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering, or equivalent combination of training and on the job experience.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in the IT, Outsourcing Services, or Financial industry is required.
- Experience implementing applications using Java and J2EE, Angular with exceptional attention to quality.
- Experience in Jenkins, DevOps, Agile methodology, and Test-driven development.
- Proven technical proficiency in Java, Unix/Linux, Oracle, CI/CD, Spring framework, Spring Boot, Unix, and Linux.
- Outstanding communication skills with all levels of the organization, including the ability to communicate with non-technical staff about technical issues
- Ability to communicate with management, clients, as well as presenting technical information in a clear and concise manner
- Excellent teamwork skills and a service-oriented attitude to create and maintain positive peer and client relationships
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and quick learner with excellent, proven problem-solving skills
- Strong organizational and analytical skills
- Git, JIRA, Confluence, Oracle, Unix scripting, Jenkins
