We are looking for a Lead Software Engineer with expertise in solution architecture and a record of accomplishment in the financial services industry. This role requires a skilled problem-solver capable of designing and implementing solutions that integrate new applications with existing legacy systems. The successful candidate will oversee architectural decisions, ensuring alignment with our business goals and technology strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement solutions that integrate new applications with extensive use of existing legacy systems, ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance.
  • Offer architectural guidance, aligning development teams with strategic visions and technical standards.
  • Evaluate and select appropriate technologies and frameworks for new developments and legacy system enhancements.
  • Promote best practices in CI/CD, SDLC and security across all projects.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align technical solutions with business needs.
  • Lead the modernization of legacy systems to meet current and future business requirements.
  • Uphold standards of software development, emphasizing code quality and pragmatic problem-solving.
  • Keep abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies to foster innovation within the organization.

  • Proven experience in solution architecture within the financial services sector, with a focus on integrating modern technologies with legacy systems.
  • Strong knowledge of full-stack development principles and a wide range of modern and legacy technologies, including Java, Postgres, Spring Boot, Vue or React, JavaScript. Knowledge of OpenEdge Progress and C# .NET is nice to have, or candidates should be willing to learn.
  • Proficiency in Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) practices and a thorough understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
  • Solid foundation in security and authentication principles, with specific knowledge in OIDC and SAML authentication mechanisms.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of discussing complex technical strategies with a broad audience.
  • Leadership skills in driving technical and cultural changes within an organization.
  • Commitment to maintaining high code quality and making pragmatic technology choices.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Proficiency in using version control systems, specifically Git, and familiarity with Jenkins for automating software builds and deployment processes.
Recruitment Process

  • Salary Range: CAD $105,000 - CAD $125,000 depending on experience. Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.
