Position: Maintenance Manager, Third Shift

Location: Humacao, PR

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise the allocation of maintenance resources (people, equipment and supplies), ensuring optimum resource utilization.
  • Develops monitors and controls the maintenance budget.
  • Ensures the leverage of resources in order to timely execute preventive and corrective maintenance tasks.
  • Identifies areas of opportunity related to GMP, EHS, trainings and reliability and recommend path forward; implement action steps under his/her responsibility.
  • Develops KPIs, monitors performance, identifies areas of opportunity, and makes decisions and recommendations to meet or exceed goals and objectives.
  • Negotiates priorities within service units to ensure alignment with the Planning organization. Decide upon priorities in order to support and maintain continuous operations.
  • Evaluates, identifies and decides on action plans for areas of opportunity to improve maintenance systems.
  • Performs as the manufacturing liaison person to improve, monitor and control the robustness of all preventive maintenance and calibration activities complying with a high attainment standard. Defines and decides upon utilization of utilities and priorities during emergencies.
  • Responsible to monitor the execution of Preventive Maintenance, Corrective Maintenance, Predictive Maintenance and Calibration a timely manner.
  • Coordinates the efforts to support the operational areas based on priorities identified.
  • Integrates different Maintenance Services for the assigned Manufacturing Operations (B-41, B-37 and B-6 manufacturing, building utilities and MRO (maintenance, repair, operations)/CMMS support) by coordinating all efforts to ensure common objectives are maintained in alignment to site strategies.
  • Participates and involves in RCM (Reliability Centered Maintenance) site plan to improve equipment uptime and reliability.
  • Focuses the work team (group under direct supervision) in exceeding departmental, building and site objectives and goals, leading the group on a maintenance excellence culture.
  • Performs the supervisory functions related to talent acquisition and recruitment to support the execution of the Maintenance Manufacturing Team as needed, performance management and development of direct reports and assures that area of responsibility goals and objectives are established and accomplished.
  • Provide support to investigations, CAPAs (corrective and preventive action) and Task as needed within the established due dates. Implements and sustains a 5S Initiative across the maintenance area.
  • Coordinate assigned personnel as to comply with all kinds of trainings, talks, meetings, etc. Execute assigned team activities included but not limited to weekly pay sheets (payroll), periodic performance evaluations, development plans, disciplinary actions, special shift coverage design and schedule, etc.
  • Manage activities associated to the computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) including but not limited to work order generation, evaluation, assigning, documentation evaluation, WO completion, etc.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering, preferable in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial.
  • Five (5) years of experience in the Maintenance/Engineering field or Utilities/Manufacturing Operations in a Pharmaceutical or Chemical Process Industry.
  • Three (3) years of experience in a supervisory role
  • Knowledge in Maintenance system.
  • Demonstrated leadership and team-oriented skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills (English and Spanish).
  • Ability to identify problems and develop solutions.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers regarding needs and meeting expectations.
  • Ability to apply negotiation skills in dealing with customers, vendors, governmental agencies, and others.
  • Advanced Computer skills (Excel, Word, etc.) Knowledge in Computerized Maintenance Management Systems.
  • Hands on experience in PLCs and/or operator manual interface (OMI) troubleshooting
  • Knowledge of FDA, CGMPs regulations.
  • Self-motivated and proactive person.
  • Ability to adapt and promote new technologies and processes in a changing maintenance and operational culture.
  • Innovative thinking
