Responsibilities

 

Lead team in the development and implementation of tax technology and process initiatives across Bridgestone LA South. Provide tax systems training and user support. Serve as tax technology liaison between technology providers, IT, and the Tax Department. Assist with the assessment of end-to-end operating tax processes and data, including the supporting business processes and tax engines.

 

  • Responsible for managing the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of the Company's tax technology solutions, tax software, and tax document/data systems.
  • Establish of continuous improvement and a focus on enabling and empowering the tax department to achieve process efficiency, operational excellence, and insightful analytics.
  • Work with a cross-functional team (e.g. Tax, IT, Accounting, LSCM, etc.), as well as business partners to ensure the highest level of quality in our tax compliance and reporting processes and systems.
  • Identifies relevant business initiative related tax compliance and or process risks and effectively communicates them, with potential mitigating actions to leadership.
  • Manage and maintain the departments tax related data while ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Identity and evaluate tax technology risks, design, and implement mitigating measures.
  • Develop and implement continuous improvement initiatives to align standards, improve processes and internal controls, improve supporting documentation, and align tax and functional/business best practices.
  • Provide training to business partners and tax professionals of all levels on tax technology topics.
  • Design, build, and maintain tax related analytic reports.
  • Effectively communicate data and findings to key decision makers and stakeholders to drive strategic business decision making
  • Lead or support projects as required to deliver tax or business objectives, including tax research and planning.

 

Establish, improve and execute tax technology and process initiatives required to meet the tax team’s objectives.

Align course of action and maintain collaborative relationships with third party technology providers as well as the IT Department, all Tax COEs, Controller’s Office, SSC, and businesses.

Qualifications

EDUCATION:

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Technology, Management or Finance

 

CERTIFICATIONS:
BA / BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or similar
CPA, CMI, CAE or international equivalent
MST or MBA a plus

 

LANGUAGES: proficiency level

English:Advanced

Spanish:Intermediate

 

SPECIFIC TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE: SAP, MACROS, EXCEL
 SAP, OIDT, TAX ONE, ONESOURCE
 Office packages: Word, Excel, Power Point

 

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE:
5 years and up

 

"DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE:
Project Management, Tax Technology, Tax, Finance, People Management

 

ADDITIONAL OBSERVATIONS: 8 years experience in a large multinational corporation or public accounting firm, 2 year experience leading a team.
