WHAT YOU’LL DO

As a key member of the People Systems team reporting to the Manager, People Systems, you will own the design, development, and maintenance of Workday reporting and security architecture across all People Systems. You will partner cross-functionally with stakeholders across the People, Finance, IT, and Compliance teams to ensure Workday data is accurate, accessible, and secure.

Success in this role requires an analytical mindset, strong attention to detail, and the ability to translate complex data and security requirements into scalable solutions. As a Senior People Systems Analyst, Reporting & Security, you’ll dig deep into our Workday setup to improve data visibility, ensure compliance, and empower stakeholders through smarter reporting and governance.

Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with business users and stakeholders to gather reporting and data access requirements, ensuring solutions are accurate, secure, and meet compliance needs.

  • Design, build, and maintain advanced Workday reports and dashboards, including calculated fields, custom reports, and composite reports.

  • Own Workday security configuration, including role assignments, domain and business process security policies, and segmented security groups.

  • Review and refine security access to ensure users only see the data they should, partnering with SOX and audit stakeholders to uphold data integrity and compliance.

  • Troubleshoot report issues and access-related tickets, performing root cause analysis and proposing long-term solutions.

  • Develop documentation and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for security and reporting configurations.

  • Support data audits and compliance reviews by providing clean, traceable reporting and access logs.

  • Collaborate with HR, Legal, and Finance teams to prepare for quarterly SOX audits and respond to security-related inquiries.

  • Keep Workday security and reporting configurations up to date in response to changing organizational structure or business needs.

  • Partner with People Systems Analysts and cross-functional teams to test security and reporting changes, ensuring accuracy across environments.

  • Analyze and implement changes from new Workday releases related to reporting or security.

  • Identify opportunities for automation, better visibility, and reduced manual reporting through smarter system design.
  • WHO YOU ARE

    We are looking for a systems-savvy and detail-obsessed senior specialist with deep expertise in Workday reporting and security. The ideal candidate is passionate about data integrity and compliance, and can balance technical complexity with a user-centric approach.

    Requirements:

    • 3–5 years of Workday configuration experience, with a strong focus on reporting and security

    • Must be an expert in Workday Advanced Reporting, including: custom reports, calculated fields, dashboards, RaaS, and Worklets

    • Proven experience configuring and maintaining Workday security roles and policies

    • Experience supporting SOX controls, audits, or security reviews related to Workday preferred but not required

    • Ability to document and present technical solutions to non-technical stakeholders

    • Strong understanding of data governance, user access best practices, and data protection regulations

    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, enabling effective collaboration across teams and levels

    • Demonstrated ability to work independently and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment

    • High level of integrity and discretion when handling confidential data

    • Experience with one or more of these Workday modules; HCM, Compensation, Payroll, Benefits, Absence, Time Tracking, or Performance is required.

    For candidates based in the United States, the pay range for this position at the start of employment is expected to be between $84,500 - $93,900/year with an expected On Target Earnings (OTE) between $93,900 - $104,300/year (including bonus or commission). Your exact offer may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. In addition to cash compensation, Braze offers full- and part- time employees a comprehensive Total Rewards package that includes equity grants of restricted stock (RSUs) so that all Braze employees own a piece of our company.
