Boxed is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant with a strong revenue and tax background to join its finance team.  The Senior Account will own the revenue process and all tax matters Reporting to the Controller, he/she will also provide leadership and a strong technical accounting background to the accounting team. 

You will:

• Review the general ledger, balance sheet reconciliations and financial statements for accuracy and completeness.
• Manage/coordinate regular closing activities such as journal entries, account reconciliations, operating expenses, financial review and flux analysis
• Manage operating expense and prepaids and accruals across multiple teams and business areas
• Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual closing activities and prepare reports to be reviewed by the Controller and CFO
• Drive process improvement and design of automation procedures
• Partner with FP&A to provide insight, commentary and variance analysis
• Develop and mentor junior level staff improve accuracy, efficiency and timeliness to the month-end close process
• Effectively partner with Supply Chain and Operations to ensure the accounting is accurate and responsive to change.
• Assist and contribute to the annual and quarterly audits
• Assist with Ad Hoc project and analysis

 

Your foundations:

• 5-8 years of relevant experience
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting
• Netsuite Experience is a plus
• Detail oriented, self-motivated and a team player that can work both independently and collaboratively
• Ability to manage large data sets, prepare reports and summaries
• Comprehensive understanding US GAAP
• Ability to research and communicate issues to senior management, and prepare and maintain relevant and organized work papers
• Strong project management skills including the ability to work independently on multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
