Knowledge Expert - Financial Institutions

WHAT YOU'LL DO
As a Knowledge Expert (KE), Team Manager within BCG's Financial Institutions Practice Area, you will collaborate with Financial Institutions Practice Area (FIPA) leaders, providing industry and/or functional expertise and insights. You will work together with case and proposal teams to provide knowledge assets, analysis and expert advisory. You'll serve as a thought partner and content expert to case teams and topic/sector leaders, helping structure and solve complex issues.

Additionally, as a KE you will drive development of Intellectual Property (IP) and Knowledge Assets to support the FI sector/topic business, serving as an active contributor to commercialization efforts for the FI topic/sector, whilst working with business leaders to drive proposals & go-to-market efforts. As a KE, you will line manage a team of analysts- taking responsibility for their goal setting, ongoing feedback and career development support.

Supporting case and proposal work

Support/work with senior case team members to identify & address critical knowledge for cases and support case teams. It is expected to be working for client cases from client offices.

Participates in client calls and workshops and eventually lead modules leveraging the proprietary data assets and deploying specific methodologies.

Identify key performance indicators for players in Financial Institutions ecosystem and analyze data to generate insights.

Creating reports on new trends, new topics, regulations etc. highlighting overall impact on Financial Services.

Work with topic/sector teams

Work closely with the local BCG FI leadership to own and drive performance benchmarks for banks and other financial institutions in SEA.

Collaborates & maintains the development of new knowledge through participation in knowledge development projects.

Promotes innovation at BCG by identifying knowledge capture opportunities - Develops best practice material on various banking topics to be used by teams or shared with clients.

Contributes to building sector/topic/ teams and suggests emerging topic/sectors based on client demand.

Develops additional proprietary knowledge for the Firm like creation of databases, supporting whitepapers and internal knowledge documents.

Managing team

You will be managing a team of 3-4 people under you (direct & indirect). Provide guidance for work and career development to people reporting to you.

Provide mentorship, set targets/goals, track achievements and career progression for the team under you.

Play a "business builder" role by ensuring KT is part of PA growth platforms, allowing further growth (organic and inorganic) within own KT team.

YOU'RE GOOD AT

Solving complex client problems through relevant analytical approaches and customized solutions.

Leading development and commercialization of knowledge and assets e.g. tools, sector/topic materials basis the requirements.

Engaging and communicating with senior stakeholders, demonstrating expert presence and credibility.

Leading projects in a highly effective manner, mobilizing team to deliver on business priorities and commercial impact

Acting as a highly effective coach and mentor, guiding team members to achieve goals efficiently and effectively

Working in an ever changing and complex environment, and comfortable with ambiguity and navigating a fast-paced environment

YOU BRING (EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS)

7+ years consulting experience in sector/topics related to Financial Institutions; candidates with consulting experience preferred.

In lieu of consulting experience, 10+ years minimum industry experience required; 10-12+ years of industry experience strongly preferred.

Master's Degree in Banking and Finance required (Certifications such as FRM, CFA etc. preferred)

Expertise in relevant Financial Institutions sector/topic, such as Retail Banking, Wholesale Banking, Post-merger integration, Digital in Banking etc.

Fluency in English, Other languages - Bahasa

Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills to interact with and manage internal and external stakeholder while working in a global collaborative team environment

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
The Knowledge Team (KT) is a group of functional and/or industry experts leveraging deep domain knowledge to enable insight for case teams and clients. KT members are affiliated to BCG Practice Areas, plugged into the strategic agenda and building and deploying leading edge IP data tools/assets to deliver insight.

BCG's Knowledge Team members are staffed on cases and help co-create insights with case teams and clients through expert perspectives on industry trends, delivery of proprietary data or tools in a particular function and complex research and analysis of market information. KT members also support the PA's business development and proposals and help to organize and codify the knowledge that enables BCG to deliver superior business value for its clients.
