We're seeking a future team member in the role of Senior Specialist, Full-Stack Developer to join our PERSHING team. This role is in Jersey City, NJ - HYBRID.

Team Overview:

As part of a multiyear modernization program, Pershing Clearance & Settlement team is looking to re-engineer their platform(s) and processes on microservices / micro frontend distributed technologies for scale and portability across various enterprise services. We are looking for a hands-on Java / Spring Boot developer to work on micro component layer across front end and backend as part of our global team

In this role, you'll make an impact in the following ways:
  • Follow and add to our defined architecture, technology standards, and best practices for applications, middleware, and databases for development
  • Work with the team and architect to design, prototyping and delivery of software solutions, helping manage the technical environment (software, data, interfaces, integration), researching new tools and technologies, and help with developing better analytics solutions.
  • Participate in code reviews and assist in debugging, while continuing to contribute directly to the success of the project deliverables.
Required Skills
  • Java, Spark and/or Spring Boot, REST
  • Angular
  • Oracle, DB2
  • Micro-Services Architecture, Scalable High Resiliency Systems, Workflow is preferred.
Preferred:
  • Experience with Big Data technologies like Apache Hadoop, HBase, Spark, Hive
  • Agile Development experience, SDLC Tools like Maven, Jenkins, git etc, Testing tools like Junit, Selenium, Mockito, Cucumber etc
  • Knowledge of mainframe platforms and/or prior experience porting applications from mainframe to distributed platform is highly preferred
  • Financial Services experience, specifically Trading or Clearance & Settlement
  • Provides application software development services or technical support
  • Understands and follows the Software Development Life Cycle.
  • Writes new programs, working with standard application system designs and specifications and utilizing standard procedures and techniques.
  • Designs and codes programs.
  • Prepares and executes test cases and revises programs as necessary.
  • Documents installation and operating procedures.
  • Interfaces with architects to design, code, test and implement application programs.
  • Proposes innovative, creative technology solutions. Contributes to the achievement of team objectives.
  • Ability to work independently, handle multiple tasks simultaneously and adapt quickly to changes
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written), good interpersonal skills
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience required, 7-15 years of experience in software development required, experience in the securities or financial services industry is a plus

BNY Mellon assesses market data to ensure a competitive compensation package for our employees. The base salary for this position is expected to be between $91,000 and $200,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base salary if hired will be determined on an individualized basis, including as to experience and market location, and is only part of the BNYM total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, short and long-term incentive packages, and Company-sponsored benefit programs.
This position is at-will and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, change in geographic location, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
