We're seeking a future team member in the role of Data Management Engineer to join our Data Innovation team.
Our Team
Enterprise Data Management is focused on delivering the firm's master data strategy, implementing enterprise data policies & governance, driving a holistic access to data via our data Lake, and enabling the business to deliver advanced outcomes for ourselves and our customers using AI/ML techniques.
In the process of focusing on this agenda - we participate in the remediation of data centric regulation. We help our operations teams transform how we operate, while optimizing our data centric cost structure and reducing our operating & regulatory risk, and provide innovative, data centric commercial opportunities.
The Data Innovations team sits within the Enterprise Data Management organization.Our team is tasked to drive commercial outcomes from internal and externally facing data investments with a core goal of maximizing financial return, data accessibility, and data insights for the Bank and our clients. One component of the Innovation team is delivering the Regulatory Data Office which serves as a "Data Horizontal" in support BNYM Regulatory Initiatives (New Reg, Reg Changes, Remediation / Enhancement). RDO will engage with Compliance, Corporate Functions, and Lines of Business with primary responsibility for the regulatory obligation to provide expertise with Enterprise Data Services (e.g. Data Lake) and analytical tooling/techniques to ensure the completeness and accuracy of data for their regulatory obligations.
In this role, you'll make an impact in the following ways:
- Building deep expertise in data sets to guide regulatory report owners in navigating the firm's strategic infrastructure and evaluating their data needs
- Accelerating the data quality review and data evaluation for regulatory reports
- Leveraging technology to advance the quality of data to drive insights regarding the firm's regulatory reporting
- Driving improvements to data and infrastructure, supporting delivery of new assets in support of regulatory oversight
- Degree in Engineering
- Experience in Finance/Banking, Regulatory reporting, & data analysis. 10+ years
- Strong communication skills, both written & oral
- Passion to learn new tools and apply them to challenging problems
- Experience with RDBMS, NoSQL database, PL/SQL, python, scripting and BI tools
- Knowledge of data mastering & data governance
- Experience identifying data issues and driving commercial solutions through strategic partnerships
- Experience on regulatory reporting and banking compliance related systems
