We're seeking a future team member for the role of Senior Group Manager, Tax Reporting & Compliance to join our Global Tax Operations team. This role is located in Pittsburgh, PA.

The Global Tax Operations group enables our clients to meet their US, Canadian, FATCA & CRS Tax obligations. We support clients in achieving the appropriate source withholding tax relief on their global investments, and we deliver automated solutions, taking the complexity out of tax regulatory obligations and documentation requirements. This individual is expected to provide oversight for all of US Tax Operations across multiple sites in the US and partner with the other regions that support US Tax functions for seamless service delivery.

In this role, you'll make an impact in the following ways:
  • Directs the work of US Tax Operations, consisting of multiple teams that are responsible for collecting and validating tax documentation, managing tax withholding and reclaims, and producing reporting on behalf of BNYM and our clients.
  • Delivers on financial and people responsibilities and ensures assigned teams are operating effectively to meet the group's objectives. Executes business plans and contributes to the development of functional strategy.
  • Sets work priorities and provides guidance to the tax teams in Pittsburgh. Provides input into the design of metrics and monitors work output to ensure client satisfaction.
  • Prepares the group for significant tax regulatory changes, platform changes and new business initiatives.
  • Assists clients in addressing complex tax and/or regulatory questions posed by their investors, where relevant, in partnership with Corporate Tax and Tax Product.
  • Partners with Corporate Tax to monitor the regulatory landscape. Leads development of resulting recommended process changes.
  • Recruits, directs, motivates and develops staff, maximizing their individual contribution, their professional growth and their ability to function effectively with their colleagues as a team. Manages a large Tax Reporting and Compliance area. Work is primarily accomplished through subordinate managers.
  • Responsible for the achievement of the goals of a large financial reporting area, talent management and supervision of teams.
To be successful in this role, we're seeking the following:
  • Bachelor's degree in a business discipline or the equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
  • Tax knowledge, education, and/or experience is required.
  • Ability to collaborate across multiple groups in a matrixed organization is required.
  • Ability to successfully manage the control environment and assess and manage risk is required.
  • Ten to fifteen (10-15) years of total work experience and five (5) plus years of management experience is preferred.
  • Experience in managing all aspects of an operation, including budget, strategy, resourcing and delivery is preferred.
  • Innovative mindset with process improvement experience preferred.
