Corporate events announced in the market have an immediate impact on the client's portfolio. The corporate actions analyst is expected to interact with various other internal departments (E.g. to client groups, Pricing, Custody, and Income groups ) to ensure the timely and accurate reflection of the corporate event. The analyst is expected to understand how these departments interact with the GAME Group and react appropriately in case of issues. The analyst is also expected to understand the nature and purpose of the corporate events and how they affect the client's portfolio and valuation to assess the risk associated to the CA events.

Problem Solving: Describe the nature and complexity of the problems this position encounters on a recurring basis. Include information regarding the level of innovation required, if any, and include mention of environmental factors that may add to the complexity of resolving issues.

Corporate Actions specialists are frequently faced with incomplete and/or conflicting information to be challenged, analyzed, and completed within short deadlines, be it when creating the event, when reconciling the holdings or during the processing of the responses, and transactions. In these situations, they will look for guidance to the Corporate Actions Analyst who must be able to analyse the situation rapidly yet thoroughly and reach a conclusion by either advising the specialist or escalate the issue to the Supervisor. Given the complexity of the events and the potential market exposure, analysts must be able to analyse the impact of an issue in pressurized circumstances and reach a decision that will find a balance between defending the best interests of the clients and the Bank.

Nature & Area of Impact: To what degree does this job affect the business (i.e., through interactions with customers, making decisions, defining, or setting strategy, etc.)? What is the breadth of the impact that this job has, either positive or negative (i.e., affects own team, department, function, business unit, geography, entire business, etc.)?

The Corporate Actions Analyst function has direct impact on the client's portfolio. At every step of the process, from the investigation through the processing of a response in case of an elective event, to the reflection of the event in the client accounts, any error made has an immediate negative consequence for the client. Errors are also completely transparent, jeopardizing the Bank's reputation as a Global Custodian. Given the market exposure on any transaction required to rectify a potential error, the monetary loss can be substantial. Therefore, the analyst has a direct impact on the Bank 's P&L as well. A lack of accuracy in processing a corporate event can have an immediate impact on the client, and the Bank, both from a reputational and P&L perspective.

Interactions / Interpersonal Skills: Describe the nature and level of interactions this job has with others, both internally and externally. Explain any specific interpersonal skills necessary to successfully perform this role (i.e., negotiation skills, represents business at external events or to governmental bodies, etc.)
