To this end, we are searching for the right person to fill a Principal - Digital Product Management role. This role will be a critical member in building BNY Mellon Corporate Trust's digital businesses. If you're the right person, you are the following:

    • A Digital Strategist: you love thinking about the future of the financial markets, issuance, liquidity, exchange and how BNY Mellon can provide value to the markets over the next decade. You understand how blockchain, digital assets, tokenization, and new platforms are changing the way financial transactions happen, and you are eager to apply this understanding to real-world problems and opportunities.
    • A Digital Broker: you know how to connect the mission of new digital products to internal teams, fintech firms, established market partners, and clients. Both in person and creatively through virtual technologies.
    • A Digital Product Owner: you are skilled at taking ideas and breaking them down into Digital Capabilities, working with internal teams, vendors, partners and clients to deliver results. Additionally, you own the product, and help senior leadership make decisions based on profitable growth, good margins, and risk.
    • A Client Advocate: you lead products clients love, and you thrive on finding ways to understand how we can deliver products that meet their needs.
    • A Domain Expert: you know a lot about Issuers, Asset Managers, Asset Owners, and Market Movers. Preferably, you have some knowledge of Corporate Trust. But we welcome the right combination in areas like Private Credit, Alternatives Issuance, Insurance, Collateral Trusts, Government Technology, etc.
    • A Matrix-Savvy Leader: you will be leading team members, geographically dispersed partners across businesses, tech teams, relationship managers, and operations partners. Not only are you skilled in matrix leadership, but you also enjoy it and can share your experience with the rest of the team.
    • Flexible and Hungry: you enjoy building new businesses, can tolerate ambiguity, are able to respond and manage value-based priorities. And you are hungry to see the best ideas come to fruition.

  • Product Management - Leads product management, development and strategy for significantly large and/or complex Digital products of strategic importance.
  • Role is not always tied to a specific product. Usually assigned to product areas with high-growth potential or that represent a niche/specialty offering and has fully developed core expertise on industry trends, market segments and competitor services/offerings.
  • Analyzes complex client requirements and develops solutions that may include more than one product. Must understand the economics behind products and demonstrate business acumen.
  • Responsible for crafting the strategies behind product development and delivery. Must have market knowledge to integrate the demands of various regions and stay ahead of competitors.
  • Is directly responsible for product profitability across a range of large, complex, global products. Ensures Operations, Technology, Risk, Compliance, Legal, etc. team concerns are addressed during the product development, enhancement, delivery, strategy, and planning processes.
  • Employs a client-focused, strategic approach to develop the business case for firm offerings in the marketplace through in-depth and complex analyses on client segments, competitive landscape and industry environment.
  • Demonstrates in-depth and comprehensive knowledge of assigned products, the marketplace and client need to drive product growth/development and maximize profitability. Seen as a firm expert on a key product or product portfolio of strategic importance to the firm.
  • Creates product management roadmaps and establishes evaluation criteria and success metrics. Oversees pricing, promotion, distribution strategies and competitive differentiators.
  • Positions products for specific client segments, highlighting key benefits and competitive advantages. Works with sales and relationship management teams to support sales efforts and close on deals as needed.
  • May also be responsible for revenue goals, profitability, and pricing for assigned products along with capital and operating budgets. Guides junior product managers and directs and works with operations and systems managers during product implementation to ensure operating plan goals are met.
  • No direct reports. Provides guidance to less experienced colleagues as needed. Contributes to the achievement of area objectives and profitability of assigned product(s).
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Advanced/graduate degree preferred.
  • 10-12 years of total work experience preferred. 5 years in a Digital product role preferred.
  • Knowledge of blockchain technology, digital assets, and tokenization required
  • Knowledge of Private Credit & Private Assets, Asset Owners & Asset Managers, Insurance & Collateral Trusts, Corporate Trust, Government Financial Technology, and global regulation preferred.
  • Experience in Product Management, operations, client management preferred.
  • MBA or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Product Leadership Certification preferred. Applicable local/regional licenses or certifications as required by the business.

BNY Mellon assesses market data to ensure a competitive compensation package for our employees. The base salary for this position is expected to be between $114,000 and $212,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base salary if hired will be determined on an individualized basis, including as to experience and market location, and is only part of the BNYM total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, short and long-term incentive packages, and Company-sponsored benefit programs.
This position is at-will, and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation) at any time, including for reasons related to

However, base salary if hired will be determined on an individualized basis, including as to experience and market location, and is only part of the BNYM total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, short and long-term incentive packages, and Company-sponsored benefit programs.
This position is at-will and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, change in geographic location, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
