We're seeking a future team member in the role of Principal, Business Systems Analysis to join our Outsourced Trading Execution Services team. This role is located in Boston, MA HYBRID.

In this role, you'll make an impact in the following ways:
  • Consult with stakeholders to analyze, define, challenge, and prioritize the Business Requirements, Functional Specifications, and Operational Architecture within a highly complex strategic program.
  • Create clear and detailed Business Requirements Documents, Functional Requirements Documents, Business Process Flows, Epics & User Stories, User Guides, etc.
  • Work closely with Traders, key business stakeholders to document and facilitate technology enhancement requests and bug fixes.
  • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert and ensures that the requirements and issue are well communicated across the team.
  • Help to create and execute Test Plans to ensure the technical implementation meet business requirements.
  • Manage scope changes and requirements traceability.
  • Participate in industry forums and keeps current on domain knowledge for their specific business and application areas of expertise.
  • Apply experiences across various software and/or systems development processes to identify and implement opportunities for improvement to increase quality of requirements and speed time-to-market.
To be successful in this role, we're seeking the following:
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience required.
  • 10-12 years of experience in software development required; experience in the securities or financial services industry is a plus.
  • Subject matter expert in Portfolio Management, Equities, Derivatives, Futures, FX, and/or Fixed Income trading.
  • Experience working with Execution Management Systems (EMS) and Order Management Systems (OMS).
  • Proficient in creating Business Requirements Documents, Functional Requirements Documents, Process Flows, Epics & User Stories, etc.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work closely with a wide range of stakeholders, including Traders, Management, Researchers, Software Engineers, Vendors, Operations, etc.
  • Will be expected to work in the office at least 2-3 days per week.
Leads technical/non-functional analysis and design, solves problems and provides solutions for technical challenges; including data retention and integration; Identifies gaps in system controls and protocols and drives best practice.

Ensures quality gates are met for software development deliverables, including code reviews, performance, security and architectural principles.

Responsible for system rationalization , reverse engineering, working with vendor products and builds technical plans.

Validates solutions by testing results. Manages junior staff and virtual teams, works individually or as part of a team. Provides comprehensive senior-level technical consulting to IT management and senior technical staff.

Evaluates compliance with the organization's technology standards. Analyses, defines and documents requirements for data, workflow, logical processes, hardware and operating system environment, interfaces with other systems, internal and external checks, controls, and outputs using BNY Mellon's standard development methodology.

Ensure testing, implementation and documentation of solution. Ensures that expected application performance levels are achieved. Ensures data retention policies are adhered to. Ensures permit to design, build and operate gates are appropriately met.

Works with technical teams to resolve technical challenges and identify technical/non-functional requirements, including working directly with vendors. Provides oversight of project plans and technical deliverables. Consults with IT management and technical staffs regarding use of emerging and existing technologies and associated services.

Takes lead for establishing, implementing and monitoring 'best practices' for technical development methodologies and tools. Manages junior roles and provides mentoring and coaching proposes and advocates for innovative, creative technology solutions.
