Role Context & Purpose:
The strategic Projects Implementation Specialist is a new role focused on the implementation of key strategic initiatives for the IM EMEA Business involving multiple business stakeholders.

A key marker for the role will be to bring key stakeholder functions together around collaborative delivery of high priority items for IM EMEA, mainly focused on the UK and Continental Europe. The role will also look to harness new ways of working to improve the alignment of business processes to strategic priorities.

This is a high visibility role suited to a highly motivated individual with experience in asset management and a can-do attitude.

Ultimately, the role aims to successfully deliver high priority business changes across the EMEA Business to drive improved business results and profitability.

Job Description
The Distribution team within BNY Mellon Investment Management is looking for a motivated Strategic Projects Implementation Specialist with an understanding of asset management products and the end-to-end value chain of client delivery.

Key responsibilities will include gathering business requirements, translating them into a clear set of deliverables, and working collaboratively across key stakeholder functions to implement. An important aspect of the role will be understanding the commercial impact on the business of the respective initiative and being able to drive out clear prioritization criteria aligned with financial performance. On occasions it may require direct client contact.

The successful candidate will be expected to work across all business functions including Sales, Marketing, Business Operations / GDDI, Technology and Finance to support project delivery. They will form part of an Agile Team responsible for delivery of the overall client experience.

This is a hands-on role, requiring input into strategic brainstorming through to the maintenance of project documentation, action tracking and follow up.

The role will initially focus on the management and execution of a new strategic initiative transforming the business model of Global Distribution offering improved delivery of client's needs.
Main responsibilities

  1. Exhibit critical thinking around what's important to the business. For example, help to define what Sales need to help their clients move forward in their buying process, feel comfortable about doing business and implement their chosen solution
  2. Drive cross-team collaboration and awareness to result in a shared vision and collective success.
  3. Support delivery of key strategic Projects. For example, identifying and onboarding a new 3rd party manager to partner with to launch a new product for our clients
  4. Help to define the processes that underpin the end-to-end client experience and result in predictable and consistent outcomes, leveraging technologies and systems to improve effectiveness and efficiency
  5. Adopt an agile approach to manage the backlog of deliverables in a client centric way for EMEA's Strategic priorities, in the first instance for 'Distribution as a Platform' project
  6. Where required, support the Director of Strategic Projects with the delivery of broader sales distribution plans and key strategic initiatives.
Skills required
  1. Problem solver: Big Picture Solution mindset with the ability to evaluate the current state and identify gaps and present future state
  2. Experience of building business cases and influencing key stakeholders
  3. Proven ability to drive multi-stakeholder large programmes with success.
  4. Accomplished in Agile working practices
  5. Analytical mind to create metrics to help drive decision making
  6. Ability to clearly articulate delivery schedules and conduct roadmap conversations
  7. Previous experience of dealing with clients
Education and Qualifications
  • SAFe Product Manager certificate
  • Design Thinking Practitioner
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Investment Management Certificate (or equivalent)
