In This Role You Will

The SOX Compliance and Controls ("SCC") team is responsible for performing an assessment of Internal Control over Financial Reporting (ICFR) to ensure compliance with the Sarbanes-Oxley Act ("SOX").

Responsibilities of this Role:
  • Manages a team of SCC staff responsible for all SOX activities for a business area(s) and/or region(s).
  • Supports senior management by helping to drive the SOX compliance program within a business/business partner area, across multiple business/business partner areas and/or across regions. Coordinating closely with our business partners and external auditors.
  • Works across global and regional groups to communicate SOX matters effectively to senior business management. Provides subject matter expertise to quantify SOX compliance within the business and enforces adherence to policies, procedures and guidelines. Leverages control & compliance techniques to achieve business objectives. Is accountable for supporting the resolution of complex business risk issues.
  • Recognized within the business as the go to person to address SOX related matters. Serves as escalation point for SOX issues or roadblocks, drives issues through to resolution. Coordinating and leading process walkthroughs with our Business Partners.
  • Evaluate potential financial impact of control deficiencies and coordinate with control owners on remediation plans including following through to ensure corrective actions are achieved within agreed timescales.
  • Serve as a trusted liaison for control owners, as well as for our internal and external auditors.
  • Coaches and guides assigned staff on improving the execution of the SOX activities and achievement of goals. Manages staff development and talent management processes. Manages the performance of assigned staff, coaching and guiding on SOX and strategy execution.
  • Responsible for the achievement of SCC team goals and objectives, talent management and supervision of SCC Staff.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree is required.
  • Minimum of 10-12 years of experience in SOX, Internal Audit, Public Accounting, Audit or a combination of private and public accounting (preferred but not required).
  • At least 1-3 years management experience.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Chartered Accountant (CA) certification is preferred.
