We're seeking a future team member for the role of DIRECTOR, DATA ETHICS to join our ENTERPRISE DATA MANAGEMENT team. This role is located in MANCHESTER (UNITED KINGDOM) or DUBLIN (IRELAND) or PITTSBURGH (PA, UNITED STATES) - HYBRID.
In this role, you'll make an impact in the following ways:
- Establish and implement a formal data ethics framework and supporting operating model for BNY Mellon in line with regulatory requirements and industry standards
- Be the lead data ethics subject matter expert on enterprise-wide business and technology change initiatives and work with data science teams to identify and address data ethics risks
- Partnering with business and technology stakeholders across the Bank, drive the enterprise adoption of data ethics methodology and tooling, with appropriate governance and monitoring
- Activate and equip leaders to embody ethical data leadership and decision making, and evaluate effectiveness to drive improvements
- Bachelors degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience
- 10+ years' total work experience, with 5+ years' experience in Data Ethics, Privacy, Governance/Risk Management or closely related field
- Subject matter expert on data ethics principles, industry standards, existing and emerging legal/regulatory requirements and supporting tools
- Strong leadership, communication and change management skills, with the ability to develop strategy, influence stakeholders, drive implementation and measure success
- People management experience, to manage more junior resource(s) as the data ethics program is built out
