This position will be a leader in the Enterprise Third Party Data (3PD) Team, responsible for the Enterprise 3PD Programs, vendors, operations and governance. The 3PD team oversees and governs data purchased from vendors as a means to control expenses, treat data as an asset and manage vendor relationships across the entire organization. Third party data management is a visible top priority of the Senior Leaders and essential for business success.

This candidate will lead a team and establish deep and credible relationships with various levels of management and associates across our various business lines and functions. The relationships will be leveraged to drive positive business collaboration between our business Segments, functions and external partners, as necessary. This centralized role is uniquely positioned to understand enterprise strategies, and uncover opportunities, needs and challenges not visible through a single Segment perspective.

This role can have a Hybrid or Remote work arrangement. Candidates who live near one of our office locations will have the expectation of working in an office 3 days a week (Tuesday through Thursday) Candidates who do not live near an office will have a remote work arrangement, with the expectation of coming into an office as business needs arise.

What are the responsibilities of the position?

  • Management of large strategic data relationships,
  • Responsible for the management of 2-3 team members, serving as enterprise lead overall and escalation point for business partners & vendors
  • Partner with cross-functional business leads, commercial & PL 3PD teams to drive 3PD objectives, including removing roadblocks & governance
  • Support team members in line of business/segment 3PD needs & development of roadmaps
  • Execution of highly visible & complex roadmap items and/or projects, management of strategic vendor relationships
  • Maintain a cross-line of business perspective and ensure alignment to enterprise strategic direction, supporting senior leadership engagement
  • Participate in driving best practices, governance & understanding impacts with changing regulatory environment
  • Provide thought-leadership and strategic thinking skills by looking at the business holistically and encouraging broad based thinking and analysis
  • Provide opportunities to our business to be innovative, reduce costs or improve ease of doing business by leveraging external data opportunities or partnerships
  • Participate in enterprise forums related to innovation, governance, AI/GenAI & regulatory changes

What qualifications are we looking for?

  • A self-motivated, accomplished professional with a minimum of 8 years of relevant business experience
  • Bachelor's degree required, MBA or equivalent preferred
  • P&C product and/or underwriting experience desired
  • Strong leadership skills, experience managing team in through highly matrixed organization & working with senior/executive leaders
  • Ability to organize a team of multiple stakeholders, motivate them to a common goal and communicate effectively on an on-going basis
  • Ability to experiment with new ways of doings things and deal effectively with unexpected change in a rapid paced environment
  • Excellent written communications skills, developing clear and persuasive analyses and presentations through emails, presentation decks and decision documents
  • Self-motivated, strong sense of ownership/accountability, and results oriented with the ability to manage time and schedules effectively
  • Ability to drive decision-making & strong influencing skills
  • Ability to "roll up your sleeves" while maintaining a strategic focus
  • Exceptional leadership and relationship skills; strong partnership & collaboration skills

Compensation

The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:

$137,840 - $206,760
