Job Description

The Human Resources Manager will support the business with focus on driving programs that support the long-term people goals of HR and China functions.  The HRM will oversee a variety of business initiatives related to HR programs, ensuring that Biogen processes and standards are deployed. 

The Human Resource Manager will engage with team members across the HR and China functions, supporting the HR Business Partner(s) in project work, employee relations matters, people and talent processes and programs, manager and employee coaching and critical organizational interventions as needed.    

Be a steward of the culture of the Biogen China function team (60-70 employees).

This position reports directly to Head of HR, APAC who is responsible for all aspects of the HR function.

  1. Develop and manage the Global HR program calendar to ensure timely communication of programs and coordinated roll-out with the business.
  2. Partner closely with the HR team and HR Centers of Excellence (COEs) to execute programs, processes and practices.

  1. Partner closely with the HR Business Leader on the delivery of key HR programs where appropriate (e.g., employee survey, performance management, talent management, talent retention, etc.).
  2. Proactively identify opportunities to improve processes or practices that result in tangible business improvements; partner with process owners where appropriate to drive enhancements and ensure a field-ready perspective is embedded within program rollouts.
  3. Research and prepare reports on areas of business relevance as needed.
  4. Actively engage with employees and managers where appropriate, serving as a credible and capable HR resource.
  5. Engage in HR support activities as needed (e.g., ad-hoc issues such as employee relations or supporting ad-hoc projects).

Qualifications

  • 3-5+ years of experience in human resources or related work. Strong understanding of Workday and other key HR systems and processes preferred
  • Education: A BS/BA degree is required. Advanced degree preferred (e.g., MBA).

Additional Information

  • A proven track record of delivery, proactive solutions and a business mindset is a must
  • Thorough understanding of the local legal framework, e.g. labor and employment law is essential
  • Demonstrated capacity to skillfully communicate with all levels of employees and influence outcomes and establish credibility with functional managers
  • Demonstrated strength in organization design and effectiveness, building and developing teams, and must be capable of delivering the full spectrum of HR generalist and organizational development support to meet both current and future needs
  • Entrepreneurial mindset
