About This Role:
As the Manager, EHS, you will oversee assigned Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) programs while driving continuous improvement initiatives to manage risks across Biogen's Solothurn site. In this role, you will be instrumental in supporting the implementation of Biogen's EHS Management System programs and ensuring compliance with external regulatory requirements. You will collaborate closely with internal customers, such as Manufacturing and Engineering teams, providing technical expertise to elevate the site's EHS performance. Your efforts will focus on maintaining occupational health and safety standards, as well as physical safety programs, including areas like Lockout Tagout, Electrical Safety, Contractor Safety, and Incident Investigation. By fostering a proactive safety culture, you will contribute to the operational excellence and sustainability of Biogen's biopharma manufacturing processes.

What You'll Do:
- Provide daily oversight and implementation of EHS programs and initiatives to ensure continuous improvement and regulatory compliance.
- Review and update written EHS programs while developing new initiatives to improve safety performance.
- Deliver EHS training and ensure learning management systems are appropriately utilized.
- Offer operational EHS support to internal teams, including Manufacturing and Engineering, to drive solutions for new products, activities, and projects.
- Conduct risk assessments and pre-commissioning reviews for capital projects and site construction activities.
- Investigate reported EHS events to identify corrective actions and reduce risk of reoccurrence.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to lead safety improvement projects and initiatives.
- Oversee contractor safety and provide guidance on compliance with Biogen's EHS Management System.
- Perform audits, inspections, and work observations to ensure adherence to safety protocols.
- Support the implementation and maintenance of ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards and prepare the site for certification processes.
- Act as a liaison with external regulatory agencies and ensure compliance with Swiss safety regulations.
- Drive continuous improvement efforts to enhance the site's EHS culture.

Required Skills:
- B.S. degree in life sciences, safety, environmental, or a related field.
- Federal Certificate in Occupational Safety and Health.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience supporting EHS programs.
- Experience in biopharma.
- Strong knowledge of Swiss regulatory requirements and EHS standards.
- Proficiency in EHS risk assessment techniques and processes.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, with advanced computer literacy.
- Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and external regulatory agencies effectively.
- Fluent in English, both written and oral.
Preferred Skills:
- Familiarity with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards.
- Experience interacting with external regulatory agencies and managing certification processes.
- Advanced knowledge of EHS Management Systems and technical programs.
