About This Role:
As the Associate Director of Marketing for Rare Disease, you will play a pivotal role in advancing patient-finding initiatives and driving impactful marketing strategies across our Rare Disease portfolio. Working within a collaborative and fast-paced environment, you will partner with cross-functional teams including insights, advanced analytics, and commercial operations to optimize field lead generation initiatives and ensure alignment with key brand messages and customer segments. You will oversee the tactical implementation and performance evaluation of patient-finding capabilities, lead sponsored testing programs, and build key external relationships with lab partners and vendors. Through innovative thinking and a strategic mindset, you will help accelerate diagnostic timelines, enhance disease state awareness, and support the execution of field sales initiatives. This position is integral to improving patient outcomes and advancing Biogen's leadership in the Rare Disease space.

What You’ll Do:
- Partner with the insights, advanced analytics, and commercial ops teams to optimize field lead generation initiatives and drive alignment with key brand messages, strategies, and customer segments.
- Develop and oversee tactical implementation and ongoing performance of patient-finding and lead generation capabilities.
- Lead sponsored testing programs across the Rare Disease portfolio, including managing lab partner relationships, optimizing operations, and developing promotional materials in collaboration with SMA, FA, and ALS brand marketing teams.
- Consistently assess external vendor and biotech environments to enhance Biogen's patient-finding capabilities, attending conferences, networking events, and vendor pitches as needed.
- Identify and build business cases for innovative patient-finding initiatives and pilots, collaborating closely with internal innovation teams to explore cutting-edge technology and service offerings.
- Lead and optimize key existing patient-finding and disease state awareness initiatives, partnering with internal and external stakeholders to accelerate diagnostic timelines for FA.
- Partner with Brand Marketing to support execution and enhancements for FA field sales teams, including serving as the marketing liaison for contract sales organizations.
- Manage agency and vendor relationships, including creative agencies, claims aggregators, and lab partners to ensure seamless execution of marketing projects.
- Prioritize resource allocation, deploy resources strategically, and monitor budgets to ensure efficient and effective use of resources.
- Develop executive-level presentation materials and communicate high-visibility project outcomes to the North American Leadership team.
- Navigate PRC/MLR processes for promotional materials, ensuring compliance and alignment with regulatory guidelines.

Qualifications
Required Skills:
- Bachelor’s Degree or MBA preferred.
- 7+ years of commercial experience in pharma or biotech, including a minimum of 3 years in marketing with at least 2 years focused on the US market.
- Rare Disease experience.
- Proven experience leading multiple projects and collaborating effectively across cross-functional teams.
- Strong agency and vendor management skills, including partnerships with creative agencies, claims aggregators, and lab partners.
- Exceptional communication and relationship-building abilities with external partners and internal functions such as Patient Advocacy, Corporate Affairs, Field Force, Medical, Legal, Regulatory, Finance, Patient Services, and Advanced Analytics.
- Expertise in resource prioritization, strategic deployment of resources, and budget management to ensure efficient execution of initiatives.
- Strong slide development skills for executive communications and the ability to present high-visibility projects to leadership teams.
- Familiarity with PRC/MLR processes for projects requiring promotional materials.
Additional Information
The base salary range for this position is $161,000.00-$222,000.00. Base salary offered is determined through an analytical approach utilizing a combination of factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills & experience, job location, and internal equity.
Regular employees are eligible to receive both short term and long-term incentives, including cash bonus and equity incentive opportunities, designed to reward recent achievements and recognize your future potential based on individual, business unit and company performance.
