About the role
We're seeking an Inside Sales Representative based onsite in Johannesburg to manage a defined sales territory and build strong customer relationships-primarily through virtual channels. In this role, you'll drive sales of BD's research and clinical products by identifying customer needs, offering tailored solutions, and maintaining high engagement across hospitals and distributor networks.

Main responsibilities will include:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with purchasing agents and end-users.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for customers within the assigned territory.
- Implement sales strategies and develop business plans for key accounts/distributors.
- Identify and pursue opportunities to expand business within existing accounts.
- Conduct proactive outreach via phone, email, and online platforms.
- Qualify leads and convert them into sales opportunities.
- Occasionally support face-to-face meetings or events as needed.
- Meet or exceed monthly, quarterly and yearly sales targets.
- Maintain accurate records of sales activities and customer interactions in CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce.com).
- Provide regular reports on performance and market feedback.
- Stay informed on product offerings, competitor activity, and market trends.
- Recommend appropriate solutions based on customer needs.
- Work closely with internal partners to ensure customer satisfaction and efficient sales processes.
- Assist in preparing quotes and bids, and manage pricing within defined guidelines.
About you
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Biology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or a related life sciences field.
- 0-2 years of experience in inside sales, healthcare/science sales, or customer service (2+ years preferred).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong negotiation, closing, and organizational skills.
- Ability to multitask and handle time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot) and MS Office Suite.
- Willingness to travel occasionally for customer visits, training, or sales meetings.
