Job Description Summary:

The role of the Clinical Nurse Educator is to provide BD customers with training, knowledge and education in the correct technical procedures for the application of BD solutions in the clinical setting. Provision is through in-service sessions, training workshops and clinical evaluation, both face to face and in a virtual setting.

The customer based for this role is very broad, with both Clinical and Business call points. Clinical customers include Nurses, Carers, Allied Health practitioners and Veterinary practitioners. Business customers include Distribution partner's staff and sales force.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the sales process to achieve/exceed sales budget, category share and profit growth
  • In alignment with the business strategy, provide product training, clinical procedure training and technical assistance to customers as required, utilising relevant educational and training resources.
  • Tailor and coordinate education programs to meet individual customer requirements to support product trials, clinical simulations and implementations and product promotional activities. Engage internal and external stakeholders to deliver on plan.
  • Provide market insights which includes clinical practices, competitive activity, product assessment and industry trends.
  • Maintain accurate records on SFDC of all accounts including activities, in-servicing records and contact details.
  • Attend relevant industry trade shows, conferences and meetings as required.
  • Proactively develop and maintain strong relationships with key customers and key opinion leaders. Where appropriate, develop and maintain relationships with relevant associations and government representatives to raise the BD profile with relevant decision-makers in the healthcare environment.
  • Have a sound knowledge of relevant Government legislation, standards and policies. Maintain a strong clinical knowledge relating to the relevant and focus portfolios. Keep abreast of current issues in the health care arena.
  • Partner with organizations to assess current practice and partner will sales team to provide BD solutions as alternative solutions in delivering better health care.

Knowledge and Experience:

  • Registered Nurse (with current registration) with at least 3 years clinical experience
  • A high level of technical competence and clinical experience, with a broad range of clinical knowledge, particularly in the areas of Vascular access, Medication delivery management, Urine output management.
  • Experience in the provision of adult education and training
  • Excellent presentation skills.
  • Ability to interpret and maximize use of clinical data.
  • Ability to deal with multiple priorities and short timelines from time to time.
  • Excellent oral, written communication and computer literacy skills
  • Ability to quickly become proficient in clinical technologies
  • Tenacious and highly self-motivated.

Desirable:

  • A Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or equivalent
  • Business acumen and commercial awareness
  • Project management experience

Additional information:

  • Some weekend and out of normal business hours work may be required at times to meet customer needs and timelines.
  • Up to 50% of the role will include domestic travel
