Sr. Credit Analyst
Compensation: $118,000-130,000 (Dependent on Experience)
Location: Ridgefield, CT (Primarily an IN-OFFICE role)
Schedule: M-F (Standard Business Hours)
PURPOSE:
Conducts in-depth analysis and underwriting of complex commercial loan (C&I and CRE) transactions while ensuring quality, soundness, regulatory and internal loan policy compliance.
KEY RESULTS AREAS:
- Prepares insightful and timely credit approval memorandums for presentation to the appropriate approval authorities/loan committee.
- Analysis should include overview of the business enterprise, in addition to the specific transaction.
- Provide a clear description of risks and migrants, specific to the client and loan request.
- Review terms and conditions along with financial covenants if appropriate to the transaction.
- Identify loans that may require policy exceptions, leeway, prudence, Reg O, HVCRE, TDR
- Discussion of the client’s operational results and balance sheet highlights
- Factors influencing the results
- Leverage; both trade and bank debt
- Tangible Net Worth
- Asset quality; coverage
- Standalone and global cash flow/debt coverage
- Risk Grade Rationale
- Reviews and provides analysis of industry specific reporting
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Analyzes and underwrites complex commercial loan transactions.
- Supports and promotes a positive working environment and service culture.
- Works independently but under the guidance and review of lead staff.
- Works closely with Commercial Lending Officers to answer questions related to financial performance, loan transition to achieve proper underwriting of credit approval memorandums.
- Participates in Customer meetings to inquire about specific transaction related and financial information.
- Completes other projects and responsibilities as assigned by senior management.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- BA or BS Degree, preferably in business or accounting, along with a minimum of two years progressive commercial credit analysis experience.
- Knowledge of commercial loan products, loan structure and documentation, commercial loan policy and regulatory guidelines.
- Real Estate and Commercial & Industrial credit underwriting experience a plus.
- Accounting knowledge preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Outstanding qualitative and quantitative analytical skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, specifically Word, Excel and Outlook; experience with COCC and Jack Henry databases preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and execute time-sensitive credit approval memorandums and meet deadlines.
- Demonstrated ability to interface and build positive working relationships at all levels of the organization and with Customers.
