Position Description: This position will report directly to Avanade's Global Lead for Digital Ethics, [1] Chris McClean, who leads the company's internal efforts to implement responsible tech practices around the world as well as external advisory efforts to improve responsible tech capabilities among our clients. Depending on our intern's skills and interests, as well as current business and client needs, potential projects could include:
- Developing principles and guidelines related to emerging technologies, such as metaverse, generative AI, or robotics.
- Developing employee training and communication materials to set expectations for responsible tech across our various roles (design, development, data science, implementation, etc.)
- Developing responsible tech tools and applications to guide employees' decisions related to specific technologies, use cases, or regulations.
- Conducting research in support of thought leadership, input on industry standards, and/or advocacy of key responsible tech topics.
- Working with Responsible AI tools to generate demos and proofs-of-concept for data scientists
- Supporting digital ethics assessments and/or workshops with executives, both internally and with clients.
Requirements/Qualifications: We are primarily interested in people with a passion for Responsible Tech who are self-motivated to learn and produce. The skills most relevant to this job include:
- Strong writing and communication skills
- Working knowledge of key technology trends and ethical/social implications
- Project management and organization
Other skills that may be utilized:
- Learning and development design
- Graphic design
- Data science
- Software/UI development
What We Offer: Working closely with Avanade's research and innovation teams under the Office of the CTO, the Digital Ethics function has early visibility into some of the most interesting information and digital technologies in the market. Our intern will get a chance to see some of these upcoming technologies and apply digital ethics principles to guide their future development and implementation.
Our intern will have the opportunity to explore how we apply digital ethics and responsible AI concepts to our portfolio of product and service offerings. This will include collaborating on digital ethics and responsible AI client projects whenever possible.
Finally, our intern will get an understanding of the various skills and capabilities that are relevant for a responsible tech career path. The goal will be to give them ideas for how they can forge their own path, based on their specific skills and interests.
Pay Rate: $25/hour
