Introduction to the job

The mission of the Knowledge and Management Technical Author 2 (Curriculum Developer) is to work as the visual content specialist on the Technical Training Curriculum Design Team. Your role will include both collaborative and independent work and will be highly technical and task-based in nature. You will assist the Curriculum Design team by developing any necessary visual content like videos, animations, illustrations, user interfaces, graphics, charts and printed learning materials based on the overall instructional design plan. You will work with our Curriculum Design team to turn subject matter content into engaging videos and animations, assist with other forms of multimedia production, and demonstrate your computer software skills by assisting with the creation of computer-based trainings via eLearning authoring tools. The ideal candidate would be creative, detail-oriented, have an eye for design, and enjoy work that is collaborative, project-based, and task-oriented.

Role and responsibilities

In this job you will...
  • Work with the Curriculum Design team to brainstorm and implement online course content; act as a reality-check for what is feasible within given time frame and allocated resources.
  • Create and maintain style guide for video and animation production
  • Create storyboards of video and animation elements to visualize overall course design.
  • Plan and execute shooting of required film content; edit and produce final video content for teaching technical skills to workforce
  • Develop animated content for online learning hub
  • Take information from Instructional Designer or Subject Matter Expert and transform information into engaging content
  • Process feedback for product improvement; able to work in an iteration-based structure
  • Assist with the creation of computer-based training courses and resource materials
  • Assist with other forms of multimedia production (eLearning videos, CBT scenarios, and any other highly interactive course content); cut, edit, and adjust content using various Adobe Suite software
  • Confirm visual continuity and product quality for all curriculum material using style guide and development checklists

Education and experience
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in multimedia design, digital design, graphic design, computer design, or e-learning design OR associate degree plus 2-4 years of additional work experience.

  • The ideal candidate for this role would be someone with animation and video production skills, an ability to learn new software quickly, and an interest in training and learning design.
  • Portfolio of previous projects or samples of work
  • Strong competence with the various tools required to accomplish the job duties listed above.
  • Expertise in visual content design principles and techniques; ability to communicate these principles to teammates to enhance projects and meet goals of learner analysis
  • Experience developing visual content especially videos and animations; experience with graphics, charts, illustrations, user interfaces, and printed learning material isa plus
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Suite products: Illustrator, Photoshop, After Effects, Premiere Pro
  • Able to learn new development software quickly
  • Detail-oriented, eye for design, creative, enjoy work that is project-based/task-oriented
  • Cares about the success of the team by taking ownership of project pieces, working independently to complete tasks, presenting project updates regularly, and consistently producing content before project deadline
  • Challenge team and process by asking clarifying questions, following up when issues arise, communicating via established project channels
  • Collaborate both in-person and virtually
  • Eager to demonstrate mastery of new skills and use of development software (particularly e-learning authoring tools) to update, modify, and create computer-based training modules on DUV technical training topics for Field Service Engineers

Preferred skills:
  • A background in learning design or education is helpful, but not required, as this role will focus on building the employee's skillsets in those areas through the content they develop.
  • Experience transforming conceptual concepts given by Subject Matter Expert into videos, animations, or other forms of engaging media content or experience creating design pieces based on storyboards developed by another person
  • Experience working on a collaborative team to complete multiple projects simultaneously
  • Knowledge of e-learning tools and authoring software like Articulate 360 or Captivate
  • Knowledge of 3D imaging creation and software (like Blender or 3D Studio Max)

This position requires access to controlled technology, as defined in the Export Administration Regulations (15 C.F.R. § 730, et seq.). Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to access such controlled technology prior to beginning work. Business demands may require ASML to proceed with candidates who are immediately eligible to access controlled technology.

The current base annual hourly range for this role is currently $26.14-$43.57. Pay scales are determined by role, level, location and alignment with market data. Individual pay is determined through interviews and an assessment of several factors that that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to job-related skills, relevant education and experience, certifications, abilities of the candidate and pay relative to other team members.
