Apple Arcade is seeking a passionate and experienced UI/UX Designer to elevate the user experience across our diverse portfolio of games. In this role, you'll collaborate closely with world-class third-party developers and internal teams to ensure each game delivers intuitive, accessible, and delightful user interfaces. You'll also contribute to the evolution of the Apple Arcade service by defining best practices, creating documentation, and ideating service-level UI/UX improvements that improve usability, discoverability, and engagement. You will: - Provide UI/UX direction and feedback to external development teams across a diverse portfolio of games. - Collaborate with producers and partners to ensure each game meets the high standards of Apple Arcade - innovative, fun, and trustworthy. - Develop and document UI/UX best practices for Apple Arcade, delivering consistency and quality across all titles. - Contribute to the creation of service-level UI/UX requirements, including shared UI elements and product-level UX improvements. - Create wireframes, mockups, and prototypes to communicate interface ideas and service enhancements. - Stay informed on emerging trends in UI/UX design, Accessibility, and player engagement, bringing fresh, forward-thinking ideas to the table. - Build meaningful, long-term relationships with developers around the world, acting as a trusted UI/UX partner.
Minimum Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in game development, with a strong focus on UI/UX design; This includes proven success designing user interfaces and experiences for acclaimed games across multiple platforms, especially mobile, with a level of mastery to be able to elevate experiences across a wide variety of genres and player demographics.
Preferred Qualifications
- Deep understanding of interaction design, visual hierarchy, information architecture, and Accessibility in games.
- Proficiency in design tools such as Figma, Adobe XD, or Sketch, and familiarity with game engines like Unity or Unreal.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to provide clear, constructive feedback to external partners.
- A portfolio that showcases creative innovation, versatility, and a solid understanding of what makes game interfaces intuitive and engaging.
- Experience working on games for subscription services or platforms where long-term engagement, user delight, and frictionless discovery are key to player success.
- Ideal candidates will have experience working both within game worlds and at the platform level, ensuring consistency and quality across all player interactions.
- Familiarity with Apple's Human Interface Guidelines and broader ecosystem.
- Knowledge of localization and how UI adapts across languages and regions.
- Understanding of Accessibility best practices in interactive entertainment.
- Background in UX research or usability testing.
- Experience designing UI for cross-platform games and gaming services.
Pay & Benefits
At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $175,800 and $264,200, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
