Description
APPLE INC has the following available in Cupertino, California and various unanticipated locations throughout the USA. Execute automated and manual test cases to measure power consumption. Ensure high-quality subsystems by monitoring battery life impact. Develop test plans based on feature design. Develop and maintain automation framework and automated system level tests to analyze the power consumption of hardware and software subsystems. Set up hardware environments for testing. Run tests of both projected and actual battery life across a large amount of hardware. Triage reports of battery life issues and help find areas for improving product battery life. Run multiple tests simultaneously across many different scenarios and keep track of results. Debug and troubleshoot hardware and software issues. Develop and maintain automation framework and automated system-level tests for power measurement. Bring up full system development board and maintain it for regular power measurement. Run test of both projected and actual battery life on development board and form factor devices. Triage report of battery life issues and help find areas for improving product battery life. Debug and troubleshoot hardware and software issues. Develop test plan based on feature design. Optimize power for new Hardware and Software features. 40 hours/week. At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $165,500 - $248,700/yr and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.
- Education and/or experience must include each of the following:
- Developing automation test frameworks for testing embedded systems using C/C++ or Python
- Performing Hardware verification, including experience in device drivers, operating systems and embedded systems.
- Scripting languages and tools: Shell, Python, Perl, and Object-oriented programming
- Development of test plans based on feature design using QA testing methodologies
- Design and diagnosis of hardware prototypes with equipment like oscilloscope and logic analyzers.
- Set up of hardware environment for testing.
- HW and SW interaction, including testing and troubleshooting of interfaces like USB and PCI
