Here, you'll do more than join something - you'll add something. The Intelligent System Experience Engineering organization is looking for a driven and detail-oriented Software QA Engineer. As a member of our dynamic group, you will have the unique opportunity to contribute towards the quality efforts for the most iconic operating systems - iOS, iPadOS, macOS & visionOS. This team works on some of the core system applications such as Setup, Settings, Clock, Alarms, Calculator and many more. In this role, you will work closely with Engineering, other QA Engineers and SDETs on delivering the highest quality experience to our customers. Partner with an energetic, hard-working, fun team of managers, engineers, cross-functional teams, and world-class designers to deliver the best system experiences!

Description

You'll join a dynamic and fast-paced team of functional testing engineers to ensure that our software meets the high-quality bar Apple is known for. Part of your responsibilities will include testing like a user while being vigilant about every issue that is encountered during a structured test pass. You will become extremely fine-tuned in assessing the impact of each bug on a customer's overall product experience. You will process results, report bugs & draw important conclusions and share with the engineering teams. You must be flexible and able to bounce between varied tasks efficiently. You must have a passion for exceptional user experience and a dedication to delivering the highest quality products for both our customers and our stakeholders.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 3+ years of relevant work experience working in manual software testing under high pressure situations
  • Advanced proficiency with iOS macOS or other operating systems such as Unix/Linux
  • BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience or a closely related field or equivalent work experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Deep understanding of SQA methodologies and practices
  • Ability to file comprehensive and actionable bug reports
  • Ability to investigate and debug difficult problems and independently work towards results
  • Passion for delivering great user experiences to customers
  • Creative thinker and strong problem solver with meticulous attention to detail
  • Highly organized, creative, motivated, and passionate about achieving results
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Comfortable working in a continually changing and dynamic environment and driving top issues to resolution
  • Beginner level scripting knowledge e.g. in Python

Pay & Benefits

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $107,100 and $222,800, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs.
