Description

At Apple, new ideas have a way of becoming extraordinary products, services, and customer experiences very quickly. Our best candidates have proven software development skills, strong distributed systems expertise, understand SRE principles, and know what it will take to run services at Apple scale. We play a critical role in the day-to-day operations of services that are relied upon across Apple. The CloudKit SRE team supports that global platform of services that enable many of the experiences in the Apple ecosystem. Our team focuses on high velocity, high scale, and highly reliable distributed systems in a global deployment. Be part of a team working on challenging and fast-paced projects and in addition work closely with the development teams to aid in the architectural design and assist with the implementation of complex new features.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 5+ years of software development or production operations experience in a large-scale environment
  • BS or MS in Computer Science or related field.
  • Experience in managing and scaling large distributed systems in a public, private, or hybrid cloud environment
  • Experience with deploying, supporting and monitoring new and existing services, platforms, and application stacks
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem solving skills
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Skills and experience in monitoring, alerting, fault analysis, and automation
  • Programming experience in Go, Python, or Java
  • Ability to participate in on call service support

Preferred Qualifications

  • Fast learner who is generous with their knowledge
  • Experience managing customer-facing internet scale systems
  • Experience with Linux/Unix, Networking, Systems Management, Systems Security

Pay & Benefits

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $166,600 and $250,600, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple's Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
