As part of our Silicon Technologies group, you'll help design and manufacture our next-generation, high-performance, power-efficient processor, system-on-chip (SoC). You'll ensure Apple products and services can seamlessly and efficiently handle the tasks that make them beloved by millions. Joining this group means you'll be responsible for crafting and building the technology that fuels Apple's devices. Together, you and your team will enable our customers to do all the things they love with their devices. Manage a team responsible for developing and delivering functional content for use in screening, characterization, and binning of Apple SOCs across all product families. You'll be collaborating with a broad set of organizations from Silicon Validation, System Level test and Factory/Operations while leading your team to deliver the content that will ensure our Silicon meets the high quality standards of Apple.

Description

You will be leading a team of engineers and engineering managers responsible for delivering functional content for use in screening, characterization, and binning of the SOCs used in all product families. Working within the size, test time, and power/thermal constraints of various steps in the manufacturing line, your team will develop and optimize purpose-built embedded software solutions that will thoroughly exercise the Silicon in order to effectively screen out marginalities and defects. Collaborate with teams across Apple in order to direct the team towards the right solutions for each SOC and at each step in the production flow. Process and prioritize work across multiple concurrent projects through proactive and real-time assessments and detailed planning. Engage in the technical details of all aspects of the position and organization, providing technical guidance internally while accurately representing the team with executives and partner organizations. Build and cultivate relationships needed to converge on the best solutions. Promote Apple culture while cultivating a team culture that's aligned to business needs, developing the managers and engineers across your organization.

Minimum Qualifications

  • BS degree with a minimum of 15 years of relevant industry experience
  • Experience managing teams of 20+ engineers
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Si development, characterization, and defect screening
  • 5+ years of embedded SW architecture, development and debug experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated ability to grow and develop managers and senior technical contributors
  • Strong scripting and data analysis experience
  • Ability to work effectively across functions and organizations
  • Ability to present plans, status and issues to executive leadership.

Pay & Benefits

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $219,300 and $378,700, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs.
