Description

APPLE INC has the following available in Austin, Texas. Responsible for Import, trade compliance management for Latin American countries. Provide clear guidance on customs and international regulatory compliance restrictions that may build market access issues for product introduction into the targeted markets. Partner with Operations, Retail, AppleCare organizations to import inventory goods, service parts and non-inventory goods into key markets in Latin America. Responsible for Trusted Trader Programs (AEO certifications) implementation and management in Latin American countries, Automation initiatives, Trade Policy analysis and interpretation. Communicate new and existing import requirements to key business organizations & leads with the goal of removing roadblocks at time of customs clearance. Advise and support business organizations as special programs and projects prepare to launch to determine any regulatory or import requirements. Partner closely with Logistics for management of customs broker escalations on regulatory compliance issues gating importation to ensure that Apple's supply chain is not disrupted. Partner with Tax in relation to transfer pricing & customs valuation rules. Evaluate and assess current customs broker management activities, establishing key performance indicators, audit programs and compliance guidelines. Develop and drive operational improvement. Continuously evaluate processes, local regulations and vendors to ensure the best lead times. Partner with and influence Government Affairs and Legal organization to pursue legislative changes on and as needed basis. Classify products assigning an HTS code. Establish, implement and update written procedures (SOP's) and desk procedures in support of trade compliance programs. Manage and coordinate Customs' reviews and audits. Renew and lead Customs broker POA (Power of Attorney) and government system registrations. Domestic and International travel required 30%. 40 hours/week.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Master's degree or foreign equivalent in International Business, Foreign Trade, Customs Administration or related field and 2 years of experience in the job offered or related occupation.
  • 1 year of experience with each of the following skills is required:
  • Spanish Language: Native knowledge or proficiency in speaking, writing, and reading.
  • Knowledge and experience in import/export operations in Latin America
  • Trade policy analysis and interpretation
  • Project management experience
  • Vendor management experience
  • Trade Compliance experience
  • SAP experience
  • Advance excel and experience with BI tools (such as SAP Business Objects, Tableau)
