The Apple Services Engineering (ASE) team is one of the most exciting examples of Apple's long-held passion for combining art and technology. These are the people who power the App Store, Apple TV and Sports, Apple Music, Podcasts, and Books along with Cloud and Infrastructure Services platforms. They do throughout the year on a massive scale, meeting Apple's high expectations with high performance to deliver a huge variety of entertainment in over 35 languages to more than 150 countries. The ASE Program Management Office (PMO) improves program delivery through new or evolved process, data and technology solutions - building awareness, understanding and excitement for change. The PMO supports the ASE Engineering and QA organizations in driving program efficiency, quality and effectiveness to enable the current and growing scale of ASE services. We are seeking a PMO Program Manager to lead our program administration and information management efforts to optimize program mechanics and processes in support of the Engineering Program Management org and key partners.

Key Qualifications

  • 5+ years of professional experience in cross-functional, software engineering program management environments
  • Outstanding commitment to high quality work products in alignment with Apple style and quality standards
  • Highly effective written and verbal communication skills; ability to distill complex information to be easily digestible for a variety of audiences
  • Ability to work successfully in a team environment and build effective working relationships inside and outside the group is critical. Leads collaboratively.
  • Ability to anticipate leadership and organizational needs and changes and course correct appropriately
  • Strong sense of professionalism; able to work autonomously on assignments and handle sensitive and confidential information with integrity and discretion
  • Has a "can-do" attitude in all situations; no task is too big or too small to handle
  • Ability to act quickly and accurately on time-sensitive projects
  • Strong technical aptitude and curiosity, thrives in mastering new tools or applications through self study
  • Strong experience in consultative problem-solving. Exemplary skills in bringing structure to complex and ambiguous situations and communicating guidance succinctly
  • Adept at identifying and implementing process changes that have low adoption effort and high value for a large organization
  • Demonstrated experience with knowledge management systems, bug tracking, and project management reporting tools. Demonstrated ability to drive adoption of standardized nomenclature, processes, and data elements to yield efficiencies at scale.
  • Experience working with following preferred: Confluence, Radar, Final CutPro or iMovie, Keynote, Slack, Photoshop, basic HTML

Description

In this role, you will be responsible for the following: Maintain, evolve, and evangelize key project management process documentation, including related templates and integrated tools, aligned with ASE's Engineering Program Management priorities and goals Drive adoption through ongoing communications and targeted training and engagement programs designed to help our ASE community further connect, learn and contribute to best practices Work closely with cross-functional partner teams to maintain accurate feature release calendar and milestone schedules in program tools, documentation, and communications. Partner with ASE Engineering Project Managers and key leads to proactively drive alignment between ASE and partner schedules Define and drive standardized processes around feature demos, release readiness meetings, and executive status meetings for ASE initiatives Develop and maintain ongoing feature and bug reporting to keep release quality and convergence progress on track Develop and drive PMO communication plan to keep organization current on process and tooling changes, best practices, key milestones, and program priorities

Education & Experience

Bachelors degree or equivalent. PMP certification a plus

Pay & Benefits

    At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $132,300.00 and $241,500.00, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

    Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple's Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
