Description
APPLE INC has the following available in Cupertino, California and various unanticipated locations throughout the USA. Develop test and control plans to validate and verify new product quality including performing pFMEA, developing test metrology, defining sampling plan and OCAP, data analysis, etc. Ensure operational technical readiness for all phases of the introduction cycle, including driving contract manufacturer preparation for pre-production builds. This includes prep and readiness of quality test equipment, test SOP, test SW and overlay, OP training, GRR and correlation study. Drive key operational metrics including yield and UPH to ensure complete ramp readiness. Drive process development, documentation, optimization and validation, including all test requirement plans for factory to follow and execute. Lead Process FMEAs on new technologies and manufacturing processes to assess risk of process and ensure proper control and inspection is in place. Monitor in-process Quality Control results. If there are failures or poor performing parts, need to drive failure analysis to understand root cause of issue, and implement corrective actions to address problem and prevent similar issue from happening. Generate product quality documentation for mass production, such as test SOP, ERS, OCAP, to ensure proper control in in place to produce products that meet quality requirements. Develop and implement new technologies to enhance production quality, capacity and efficiency, such as using machine learning to help judge pass fail of cosmetic defects, developing automated solutions for inspection, resulting in faster, more accurate testing with less headcount of operators. Generate Product Quality Plan (PQP) and handle and triage quality critical issues, by conducting investigations on process and material through commonality study, test data analysis, physical failure analysis, etc. Monitor Outgoing Quality Control (OQC) and Customer Audit (CA) processes at contract manufacturer (CM) and periodically review Field and Factory Quality Data with CM partners, to ensure no escapes or excursions from factory that cause field quality returns. International Travel Required 20%. 40 hours/week. At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $166,962 - $236,700/yr and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Industrial Engineering or related field and 4 years of experience in the job offered or related occupation.
- 4 years of experience with each of the following skills:
- Performing statistical analysis and process control to evaluate test results and process capability, drive design or process changes, and assess if additional control is needed.
- Designing experiments to investigate different variables, like different designs, or different process parameters, and down select to best working recipe.
- Using Tableau and JMP to perform data analysis and visualize data / test results.
- Conducting Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) to identify and address potential problems, failure, and the resulting effects on process.
- Performing reliability testing to test performance of product post different stresses, predict product performance in the field, and evaluate design robustness.
- Owning and driving key operational metrics including yield and UPH to ensure complete ramp readiness.
- Driving process development, documentation, optimization and validation, including all equipment requirement plans.
- Monitoring Outgoing Quality Control (OQC) and Customer Audit (CA) processes at OEM sites.
