We develop and manage Apple's global real estate portfolio, lead all related capital construction projects, provide outstanding facilities and site services, develop and lead sustainability initiatives to reduce the environmental impact of all Apple facilities, including commute and renewable energy programs, and do everything we can to ensure the health and safety of all Apple personnel, facilities, and customers in our facilities around the world. The SCV Mechanical Systems team oversees operations for all HVAC, plumbing, and fire life safety systems across Apple's headquarters (Apple Park) and the surrounding buildings. Our mission is to deliver seamless, innovative, and sustainable mechanical system solutions that enhance the workplace experience. We are seeking a detail-oriented, collaborative, and technically skilled professional to join our team as a Mechanical Systems Specialist to support the performance and continuous improvement of mechanical and fire life safety systems across Apple's corporate office buildings.

Description

The Mechanical Systems Specialist will support operational excellence across HVAC, plumbing, and fire life safety systems in over 200 buildings in the portfolio. This role involves vendor oversight, inspections, system troubleshooting, and documentation. The role will report to the Mechanical Systems Manager. - Contribute to an inclusive environment through respecting each other's differences and having the curiosity to learn. - Foster and maintain excellent relationships with various stakeholders. - Provide technical support and system troubleshooting for mechanical and tenant infrastructure. - Assist in the development and execution of preventive maintenance programs. - Support inspections, energy audits, LEED surveys, and accessibility reviews. - Help manage vendor services and ensure compliance with contract specifications. - Identify and report mechanical system challenges, contributing to resolution planning. - Maintain detailed documentation for systems performance and regulatory compliance. - Stay informed on industry trends in HVAC and building automation.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Associate degree in mechanical engineering technology or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical system components.
  • Basic proficiency in building automation systems.
  • 3+ years of experience in facilities management or mechanical systems maintenance.
  • Ability to interpret and apply technical documentation and schematics.
  • Prior experience working across cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience with facility maintenance or operations in a large building portfolio.
  • Familiarity with LEED standards, energy efficiency practices, and building codes.
  • Proficiency in Apple platforms including Keynote, Pages, and Numbers.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills with a proactive mindset.
  • Hands-on experience with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems, Tririga or similar)
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Strong customer service orientation with attention to detail.
  • Willingness to adapt in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
  • Enthusiasm for learning and implementing new technologies.

Pay & Benefits

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $133,900 and $201,300, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
