Description

We are looking for an individual who will help build out high-throughput data systems and deliver data-driven insights to product and engineering teams across Apple, contributing to the development of new generations of battery technology. In this position, you will be a key contributor in building out the battery data warehouse, developing data pipelines from key sites in a global supply chain, and delivering curated datasets and analyses to engineering teams. You will be expected to: - Build out data pipelines (ETL, ELT) to populate data warehouse - Support battery teams by consulting on data availability, iterating on data solutions to solve real-world problems, and developing/delivering custom data products - Interface with infrastructure teams, including DBA & IT, to ensure proper functioning of all data pipelines and health of data warehouse - Identify new data requirements, work with cross-functional teams to collect required data from external systems, and work with software engineering team to build features in data management systems - Develop utility programs to support qualification lab operations - Develop Tableau reports to support data visualization

Minimum Qualifications

  • BS in computer science, engineering, data science, or related fields
  • Experience with at least one programming language (Python or Java preferred)
  • Experience building ETL pipelines

Preferred Qualifications

  • MS in computer science, engineering, data science, or related fields with minimum 3 years of relevant industry experience
  • Proven ability in working with large datasets
  • Hands-on experience using query plans to write and optimize SQL statements
  • Hands-on experience creating database objects (DML, DDL, projections, materialized views, stored procedures)
  • Understanding of row-based and columnar database architecture
  • Data visualization experience using BI tools (e.g. Tableau, PowerBI)
  • Understanding of data science methodology and machine learning algorithms
  • Experience with stream processing and messaging queues (Kafka, AMQP)
  • Understanding of battery chemistry, manufacturing, and testing

Pay & Benefits

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $143,100 and $264,200, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs.
